Overview
If you want a top-of-the-line soundbar for your family and your entertainment needs, the JBL Bar 1300 will meet some of those expectations very well. For starters, it's fitted with not just 15 drivers and an 11.1.4-channel, it also comes with True Dolby Atmos, DTS:X, and MultiBeam™ Surround Sound to deliver that signature JBL profile most existing customers know the brand for.
Coming with four up-firing drivers located in the main bar and two more in the uniquely detachable surround speakers, the JBL Bar 1300 is seemingly a one-hit man to help you achieve a more personalised sound system without any complication.
For your convenience, you can play and stream music with the JBL Bar 1300's built-in Wi-Fi, AirPlay, Alexa Multi-Room Music and built-in Chromecast.
Details
- Surround system: 11.1.4 channel
- Power supply: 100 - 240V AC, ~ 50/60Hz
- Speaker power: 1170W (output) & 650w (input)
- Frequency: 33Hz - 20kHz (-6dB)
- Audio input: 1 Optical, Bluetooth, USB
- Battery: 3.635V, 6600 mAh
In terms of performance, the JBL's sound profile, right off the bat, is solid with a full-bodied and well-dispersed soundstage. Speaking frankly, we had the rear speakers in front due to space constraints, so we didn't feel as if it's a 360 degrees surround soundstage, but it does feel as if the sound is well emitted beyond just the front of the TV and the JBL Bar 1300.
In essence, the setup possibilities are very promising. If you want to have the detachable speakers set behind permanently for rich audio, you won't be disappointed.
Voices and sound effects also sounded clear and explosive enough. If anything, JBL's Bar 1300 sounds the richest when playing music. If you play instrumental music, you'd be able to understand much of what JBL Bar 1300 tries to deliver; a concert at home. And yes, thanks to its subwoofer, the bass sounds loud and deep.
Who is this for?
A small quip we have with the JBL 1300 Bar is that it's pretty pricey, so this will depend on what kind of audio consumer you are.
If you are serious about audio but want to keep the setup simple, the JBL Bar 1300 feels like a reasonable, starter home entertainment system for most listeners, especially for movie and music lovers. But if you have a big entertainment space or you are really tight on budget, the JBL Bar 1300 might not be the best.
