The short answer
The OPPO Find X10 Pro Max is the best camera phone we have used in 2026. Its three 200MP cameras (main, ultra-wide and 3x telephoto) give consistent colour and exposure from lens to lens, its photos look the way the scene looked to our eyes, and it shot handheld 4K video across two countries without lag or overheating. In Malaysia it costs RM6,999 for 16GB of RAM and 512GB of storage, and it went on sale on 22 October 2026.
Buy it if photography or video is the main reason you choose a phone. Skip it if you want a light phone (it weighs 233g) or only take quick snaps: the RM4,599 Find X10 has most of the same camera system for RM2,400 less.
What we would change: the telephoto renders colours slightly less saturated than the other two cameras, and at 40x with the teleconverter, fast-moving subjects lose detail.

How we tested the Find X10 Pro Max
We tested two units at the same time, in two very different places: Beijing on 14 and 15 October 2026, and Kazakhstan on 15 October. Umar took one to Kazakhstan, shot mostly landscapes and people, and used Master Mode for nearly everything, to see whether a phone could stand in for his full-frame Sony camera. Thaarsh and the rest of our video team took the other to Beijing and tested each camera, portrait mode and the video features one by one. Every photo and clip was shot handheld, with no tripod.
Our full review is above. This article sets out what we found, question by question.
Is the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max camera good?
Yes. The main camera is the best phone camera we have used this year, and the reason is consistency: highlights and shadows hold up in the same frame, colours match what we saw, and the ultra-wide matches the main camera so closely that switching between them is hard to spot.
At 1x, the large 1/1.28-inch sensor and f/1.5 lens give a soft, natural background blur without switching to portrait mode. The change from sharp to blurred is gradual, closer to a camera with a big sensor than to a phone's software blur. OPPO's DeepPix sensor technology gives the main camera up to 17 stops of dynamic range in video, and in our high-contrast photos we never had to choose between a blown-out sky and a black shadow.
In low light, the main camera kept highlights under control and lifted the shadows just enough to show detail. It does push highlights slightly brighter to make skies look richer. We liked the result, but if you want a flatter, more neutral file, use Master Mode (see the LUMO section below).
Our favourite setting was 2x, which gets closer to people and buildings while keeping the main camera's look.

Do 200MP cameras take better photos?
Not on their own. More megapixels help when the sensor is also large and the processing is restrained, and the Find X10 Pro Max has both. The practical gain is room to crop: we could crop a 3x telephoto shot heavily in editing and still keep a clean, detailed picture.
You will not fill your phone with 200MP files by accident. By default, the Find X10 series saves 26MP photos from the ultra-wide up to 9.9x zoom. Turn on Hasselblad Hi-Res Mode when you want the full 50MP or 200MP file.

How good is the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max ultra-wide camera?
Very good, and stronger than most ultra-wide cameras in low light. OPPO gives it a 200MP, 1/1.56-inch sensor that it says takes in twice as much light as the previous generation, and calls it the widest ultra-wide sensor in the industry. Our low-light ultra-wide shots were clean, with very little visible noise.
The ultra-wide starts at 0.5x rather than the 0.6x found on many Android phones, so it fits more into the frame, and the edges showed very little stretching. In daylight its colour and exposure matched the main camera closely, so a set of photos that moves between the two cameras looks like it came from one camera. It also focuses as close as 4cm for macro shots, according to OPPO.

How good is the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max zoom?
Excellent up to 6x, and still usable at 40x with the teleconverter. The 200MP telephoto gives 3x optical zoom (70mm equivalent) and 6x lossless zoom, and our 3x and 6x photos came out sharp even though we took most of them while moving.
Stabilisation is what makes that possible. At long focal lengths every small shake is magnified, and OPPO says this phone has the highest stabilisation rating of any OPPO phone. With the optional Hasselblad Teleconverter attached, we shot handheld at 10x, 20x, 35x and 40x. At 10x the photos were crisp with balanced colour. At 40x, still and slow subjects kept their detail, but fast-moving ones lost sharpness.
The 200MP sensor also changes what 3x means. On most phones, 3x is one fixed framing. Here we could crop a 3x shot much tighter and keep the detail. (We first reviewed an OPPO 200MP telephoto on the Find X9 Pro; the Find X10 Pro Max now puts 200MP on all three cameras.)
One difference to know: the telephoto renders colours slightly less saturated than the main and ultra-wide cameras. It is easy to correct and does not spoil any shot, but you will see it when photos sit side by side.
The Hasselblad Teleconverter Kit costs RM899 for My OPPO app users, and pre-order buyers get a RM400 voucher towards it. It fits both the Find X10 and the Find X10 Pro Max. The telephoto also works as a macro camera, focusing as close as 10cm.

How good is the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max camera at night?
Good. In our low-light photos the main camera stopped bright lights from blowing out while still showing detail in the shadows, the ultra-wide stayed clean thanks to its larger sensor, and video stayed crisp in low light as well as in daylight. OPPO also says the telephoto's 10cm minimum focusing distance gives cleaner close-up shots in low light.

How good is the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max portrait mode?
Excellent. Portrait mode cut around hair cleanly, keeping single strands that many phones blur into the background, and HDR and colour stayed consistent from one portrait to the next. For more than 1 person shots, you may not need portrait mode at all, because the main camera's natural background blur at 1x and 2x already separates the subject.

What is LUMO True Colour, and does the Find X10 Pro Max take natural-looking photos?
LUMO True Image Engine is OPPO's new photo processing, designed to reproduce colour, tone and texture as you saw them rather than making photos brighter and punchier.
Part of it is the True Colour Camera, a 3.2MP multispectral sensor with 24 spectral channels that reads the light in the scene and feeds more accurate colour data into every photo and video. You never switch to it. It works in the background.
LUMO also brings the tonal style of Hasselblad Master Mode into the default Photo mode, and OPPO says it applies less sharpening, noise reduction and AI-generated detail, so the texture in the photo is the texture the camera captured.
In our test, the Find X10 Pro Max took the most natural-looking photos of any phone we have used this year. Colours in mixed and difficult light matched what we saw, skin tones looked right, and HDR was not overdone.
Umar shot 90 to 95% of his Kazakhstan photos in Master Mode, which strips the processing back further. "What you see is actually what you get," he said. "The darks are darker, the mediums are medium, the highs are high."
Our one caveat: in the standard Photo mode, the main camera brightens highlights slightly to enrich skies. For the most neutral result, use Master Mode.

Can the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max shoot cinematic video, and is it good for filmmaking?
Yes to both. It records 4K at 60fps by default, and 4K at 120fps and 8K at 30fps on all three rear cameras, with 4K 120fps Dolby Vision.
For colour grading it shoots O-Log2 (including 8K 30fps 10-bit Log), and Open Gate records the full sensor, so you can decide on a horizontal or vertical frame after you shoot.
Every clip in our film was shot handheld. The wider cameras hide hand movement naturally, and on the telephoto, stabilisation kept zoomed shots steady enough to use. The main camera held detail in bright skies and dark foregrounds in the same shot. Our film shows the Log footage graded with our Kodak Dusk LUT.
It is also set up for serious filmmaking. It supports the Blackmagic Camera app for full manual control, and the Tilta Khronos Creator Kit made for it adds a handle, a 67mm filter adapter, a teleconverter mount and an active cooling fan for a long shoot.
During our trip we switched cameras mid-shoot, ran Blackmagic Camera and edited on the phone with no lag and no overheating.
Who it is not for: if you edit in Apple's ecosystem and record ProRes to external drives, the iPhone 18 Pro Max still fits that workflow better (see the comparison below).
If you want to learn to light, shoot, edit and grade video on a phone like this, our Pocket Cinematic course walks through the full workflow we used for this film.

How long does the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max battery last?
A full day of heavy shooting, with plenty left. We started each shooting day at 100% and finished with just under 40% remaining, with the screen at maximum brightness, recording 4K 60fps video and taking more than 200 photos a day. That is a heavier day than most people will put a phone through.
The battery is an 8,000mAh OPPO Silicon-Carbon battery, and it charges at 80W wired (SUPERVOOC) or 50W wireless (AIRVOOC).
Is ColorOS 17 smooth, and what AI features does the Find X10 Pro Max have?
In our use, yes. We saw no lag switching between cameras mid-shoot, running Blackmagic Camera or editing on the phone, and 200MP photos were ready to view almost as soon as we took them.
The phone can take 200MP shots 0.7 seconds apart, which OPPO says is 10 times faster than the previous generation. We did not benchmark smoothness against other brands, so we cannot say it is the smoothest phone overall.
ColorOS 17 arrives with the Find X10 series. Compared with ColorOS 16, OPPO says app launch stability improves by 55%, Gallery thumbnails load up to 50% faster on first launch, and over 25% more apps can stay running in the background. The 2nm Dimensity 9600 Pro chip and a vapour chamber cooler sit underneath.
The AI features we found most useful while travelling:
- AI Composition shows live framing guides while you shoot.
- AI Glare Removal takes reflections out of photos shot through glass. We used it on photos taken from a bus window. It needs you to sign in with an OPPO ID.
- AI Expression lets you swap faces from a burst so everyone in a group shot looks their best, for up to 15 faces.
- AI Remove erases unwanted objects. OPPO says it finishes in about 1 second, against 6 seconds on Samsung and 7 on Apple. We did not time this ourselves.
The bigger change is AI that carries out tasks. AI Mind Pilot's Agent Mode, built with Manus, can work with the photos and files on the phone and handle several steps for you, such as organising files, planning a trip or making a presentation.
AI Photo Agent edits photos from plain-language instructions, and its Style Match copies the look of a reference photo. We covered OPPO's partnership with Manus in more detail when it was announced.
What is the difference between the OPPO Find X10 and Find X10 Pro Max?
The Find X10 Pro Max has three 200MP cameras, a larger main sensor, a bigger 6.78-inch screen and the faster 2nm chip. The Find X10 has two 200MP cameras (main and telephoto) with a 50MP ultra-wide, a 6.59-inch screen, weighs 216g, and costs RM2,000 to RM2,400 less.
Both have the 8,000mAh battery, the True Colour Camera, IP69 water resistance, ColorOS 17 and support for the Hasselblad Teleconverter.
We tested the Pro Max only. The table below uses OPPO Malaysia's specifications.

Which should you buy?
Choose the Pro Max if you use the ultra-wide a lot, want the cleanest low-light ultra-wide shots, or plan to film at 4K 120fps on every lens. Choose the Find X10 if you mostly shoot with the main camera and telephoto, and want a smaller, lighter phone for less money.

OPPO Find X10 Pro Max vs iPhone 18 Pro Max: which has the better camera?
For photography, the OPPO. For video inside Apple's ecosystem, the iPhone. For video inside Apple's ecosystem, the iPhone. We have not yet tested the two side by side. This comparison uses OPPO Malaysia's and Apple Malaysia's official specifications and prices, checked on 27 October 2026, plus our own time with the Find X10 Pro Max.
In Malaysia the two cost the same with 512GB of storage: RM6,999 each. The iPhone 18 Pro Max also comes in a 256GB version from RM5,999, which the Find X10 Pro Max does not.
The Find X10 Pro Max uses 200MP sensors on all three rear cameras, which leaves far more detail to crop into.
The iPhone 18 Pro Max uses 48MP sensors on all three. Its telephoto reaches further optically (4x, 100mm, against 3x on the OPPO), and its main camera has a variable aperture, the same camera system as the iPhone 18 Pro.
The OPPO records 8K and takes a clip-on teleconverter up to 40x. The iPhone tops out at 4K, but records ProRes RAW and Apple Log 2, and ProRes to external drives.
The OPPO is also the lighter phone (233g against 249g), even with its 8,000mAh battery.
| OPPO Find X10 Pro Max | iPhone 18 Pro Max | |
|---|---|---|
| Price in Malaysia | RM6,999 (512GB) | From RM5,999 (256GB). RM6,999 (512GB). |
| Main camera | 200MP, f/1.5, 1/1.28-inch | 48MP, variable aperture f/1.48 to f/4.0, 24mm |
| Ultra-wide | 200MP, 124° | 48MP, 13mm, 120° |
| Telephoto | 200MP, 70mm (3x), f/2.1 | 48MP, 100mm (4x), f/2.8 |
| Highest video resolution | 8K 30fps (all three) | 4K 120fps Dolby Vision |
| Log video | O-Log2, 8K 10-bit Log | Apple Log 2, ProRes RAW |
| Battery | 8,000mAh | Up to 29 hours typical use (Apple's figure) |
| Water and dust | IP66, IP68, IP69 | IP68 |
| Screen | 6.78-inch | 6.9-inch |
| Weight | 233g | 249g |
At the same RM6,999, the choice comes down to what you shoot: more detail, more zoom reach with the teleconverter and 8K on the OPPO, or Apple's ProRes and Log workflow on the iPhone.

Is the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max worth buying?
Yes, if the camera is why you buy a phone. After two countries and two very different trips, it was the hardest phone to find a weakness in that we have tested this year, and it is the best camera phone we have used so far in 2026.
It gives you three consistent 200MP cameras, colours that look like the real scene, zoom that reaches 40x with the teleconverter, video tools a filmmaker can use, and a battery that finishes a heavy shooting day with almost 40% left.
As one of our team put it after the trip: "If I have two phones in my pocket, the camera phone is going to be this one."
Buy it if you:
- shoot photos and video seriously and want one phone instead of a phone and a camera
- travel a lot and want one camera that covers ultra-wide to long zoom
- film on your phone and want Log, Open Gate and Blackmagic Camera support
- care more about natural colour than punchy, over-processed photos
Look elsewhere if you:
- want a light, compact phone (it weighs 233g)
- mostly use the main camera, where the RM4,599 Find X10 does most of the job for less
- record ProRes for an Apple editing workflow
More questions about the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max
Which phone has the best 200MP camera?
If you want 200MP on every lens, the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max. OPPO says it is the first phone with three 200MP cameras (main, ultra-wide and telephoto), where most phones that advertise 200MP use it on one camera only.
In our test, the main and ultra-wide cameras matched closely and the telephoto was only slightly less saturated, which is the benefit of putting a high-resolution sensor behind every lens.
Which smartphone has the best camera for photography in Malaysia in 2026?
Of the phones we have used this year, the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max, at RM6,999. It gave us the most natural colour, consistent results across its three cameras, and zoom that reaches 40x with the teleconverter.
If your budget is lower, the Find X10 (from RM4,599) shares its main and telephoto cameras. For more options at other prices, see our guide to the best camera phones for photography in Malaysia.
What are the best smartphone brands for photography?
The brands that lead phone photography in 2026 fit large sensors and develop their colour with established camera makers: OPPO with Hasselblad, vivo with Zeiss and Xiaomi with Leica, alongside Apple and Samsung.
The best one for you depends on what you shoot. For natural colour and zoom, we rate OPPO's Find X10 Pro Max highest of the phones we have used this year. For video inside Apple's editing tools, the iPhone remains the easier choice.
Is the OPPO Find X10 Pro Max waterproof?
It is rated IP66, IP68 and IP69 for water and dust, which covers rain, accidental drops in water and high-pressure jets. It also carries SGS Five-Star Drop Resistance Certification.
