BYD ATTO 3 Draws 1,000 Bookings in 10 Days in Malaysia

The updated 2026 BYD ATTO 3 has taken 1,000 bookings in its first 10 days on sale in Malaysia.

If you needed another sign that electric SUVs are selling well in Malaysia, BYD has one. The carmaker and its local distributor Sime Motors say the updated 2026 BYD ATTO 3 has taken 1,000 bookings in just 10 days, a fast start for a model that has long been BYD's best seller here.

BYD marked the milestone at its BYD Bandar Utama outlet. The 2026 ATTO 3, a facelift of the SUV that first arrived in 2022, made its Malaysian debut at Sime Motors MotorExpo 2026, and Malaysia was the first market in the Asia Pacific region to receive the updated car.

The 2026 BYD ATTO 3 comes in Ultra and Premium variants. Specs: BYD / Sime Motors Malaysia.

What you get for the money

The 2026 ATTO 3 is offered in two variants, and the gap between them is mostly about battery size, range, and how quickly the car gets moving:

  • ATTO 3 Ultra (front-wheel drive), RM125,800: 60.48 kWh Blade LFP battery, 204 PS and 310 Nm, 0 to 100 km/h in 7.3 seconds, up to 480 km of range (NEDC), and 110 kW DC charging.
  • ATTO 3 Premium (rear-wheel drive), RM138,800: 74.88 kWh battery, 313 PS, 0 to 100 km/h in 5.5 seconds, up to 510 km of range (WLTP), and 220 kW DC charging.

The faster DC charging on the Premium is the headline upgrade for longer trips, while the Ultra keeps the entry price under RM130,000.

Why the demand matters

The ATTO 3 is a familiar name for Malaysian EV buyers, and 1,000 bookings in the first 10 days suggests the facelift has landed well against a growing field of affordable electric SUVs. BYD has leaned on the nameplate's track record, calling the run a case of history repeating since the original ATTO 3 helped put the brand on the map locally.

Ownership peace of mind is part of the pitch too. The car carries a 6-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty and an 8-year or 160,000km battery warranty, the kind of cover that matters when you are buying into a relatively new technology.

Sime Motors handles BYD sales and service in Malaysia, and the 2026 ATTO 3 joins the brand's expanding local line-up. Bookings for the new model are open now through Sime Motors' BYD outlets, with the car also shown to the public during Sime Motors MotorExpo 2026.

The takeaway

For shoppers comparing electric SUVs this year, the 2026 ATTO 3's quick booking tally is a useful signal of where the market is heading. If you want the full launch details, see our earlier report on the 2026 BYD ATTO 3 Malaysian launch.
