The longest-range Proton EV you can buy arrived this week. PRO-NET introduced the Proton e.MAS 7 Premium Plus at the Kuala Lumpur International Mobility Show (KLIMS) 2026, a new range-topping variant built around a larger battery that stretches the electric SUV to 450 km of WLTP-rated range.

What the e.MAS 7 Premium Plus adds
The headline change is a 68.39 kWh Aegis Short Blade battery, up from the 60.22 kWh pack in the Premium variant. That lifts rated range to 450 km WLTP, compared with 410 km for the Premium and 345 km for the entry Prime. DC fast charging steps up to 115 kW, with a 30 to 80 percent top-up quoted at around 20 minutes, while AC charging stays at 11 kW.
The new flagship also gains comfort kit not offered on the rest of the range: a six-setting massage function for both ventilated front seats, plus a leg rest and memory function for the front passenger seat.
2026 Proton e.MAS 7 prices in Malaysia
- e.MAS 7 Prime: RM96,800, 49.52 kWh, 345 km WLTP
- e.MAS 7 Premium: RM112,800, 60.22 kWh, 410 km WLTP
- e.MAS 7 Premium Plus: RM118,800, 68.39 kWh, 450 km WLTP
All three prices are on-the-road without insurance and already include a RM7,000 special launch rebate, per the official Proton e.MAS price list. Local reports from the KLIMS launch also point to launch promotions including a trade-in rebate, a complimentary 7 kW home charger and a vehicle-to-load adapter.
Performance carries over
The drivetrain is unchanged: a single front motor with 218 PS and 320 Nm. The bigger battery adds about 50 kg, so the Premium Plus takes a quoted 7.4 seconds for the 0-100 km/h run, slightly behind the lighter Premium at 7.1 seconds. The e.MAS 7 remains locally assembled at the dedicated EV plant in Tanjong Malim, and keeps a six-year unlimited-mileage vehicle warranty with an eight-year, 160,000 km battery warranty.
Why the extra 40 km matters
Range anxiety shows up on interstate and east-coast drives where fast chargers thin out, and that is exactly where the gap between 410 km and 450 km gets felt. The Premium Plus follows the variant teaser Proton showed earlier this week, which we covered when the new e.MAS 7 variant was first confirmed for KLIMS.
Where to see it
The e.MAS 7 Premium Plus is on display at KLIMS 2026, which runs at MITEC in Kuala Lumpur until 21 June. Full specifications and the e-brochure are on the official Proton e.MAS site.
For RM6,000 over the Premium, the Premium Plus buys 40 km of breathing room and the most comfortable front row in the lineup: a straightforward upsell for buyers who clock real highway miles.
