If you have been waiting for a roomy family car that does not force a choice between space and smart safety features, Hyundai Motor Malaysia has something worth a look this week. The carmaker is giving Malaysians an early view of the new Hyundai STARGAZER at the Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) 2026, and bookings are already open.
Hyundai calls the STARGAZER a "WEhicle", its term for a family-focused model built around the people who travel in it. The preview is a mid-event teaser at the Hyundai booth, where visitors can see the car up close, take a test drive, and place a booking.

What the STARGAZER offers
The STARGAZER moves Hyundai into the practical, lifestyle-oriented family segment, sitting alongside the brand's electric models. Inside, it uses a three-row cabin pitched as a flexible family space rather than a plain people mover. Hyundai lists features aimed at long drives and daily school runs alike:
- A digital display of up to 10.25 inches
- A wireless charging pad for phones
- Integrated seat-back tables for rear passengers
- The Hyundai SmartSense driver-assistance suite, including Smart Cruise Control with Stop and Go
Under the bonnet sits a 1.5-litre Smartstream engine paired with an Intelligent Variable Transmission, a setup tuned for easy, efficient daily driving rather than outright pace. The exterior carries Hyundai's full-width 'H' LED light bar at the rear and a clean, aerodynamic silhouette.
A sportier STARGAZER X
Hyundai is also using KLIMS to show the STARGAZER X, an SUV-inspired variant for buyers who want a bolder look. It adds sporty bumpers, a rear spoiler, wheel-arch overfenders, and blacked-out branding. Hyundai Motor Malaysia's managing director, Jahabarnisa Haja Mohideen, described the model as "a smart and protective road companion for modern families in Malaysia".

The three-row family car segment is competitive in Malaysia, and Hyundai is leaning on standard safety technology and a long warranty to stand out. The STARGAZER arrives with an 8-year or 160,000km warranty, which sits on the longer side for the segment and can matter to families keeping a car for the long haul.
