What a clip-on earbud is
The ZCLIP 2 Pro does not go into the ear canal. Each bud hooks over the edge of the ear on a U-shaped bridge, which Infinix calls the Airy U-Bridge Fit, and sits just outside the ear. That leaves the ear open, so you still hear traffic, an announcement on the train or someone calling your name, which is the point of the design for commuting and walking.
The trade-off with any open-ear design is that it lets sound in as well as out, so it will not shut out a noisy room the way sealed earbuds with noise cancelling do. Infinix makes no claim of active noise cancelling for music on this model.

Sound, calls and translation
Each bud carries dual 11mm drivers. For calls, there are four microphones with AI environmental noise cancellation, which is aimed at cutting background and wind noise from your voice rather than from what you hear.
Two software features stand out. Auto Left-Right Recognition works out which bud is on which ear, so you can clip either one on either side and the left and right channels swap to match. Real-time translation covers more than 160 languages through Folax AI, used together with a connected phone.
Battery life is up to 35 hours in total with the case, and the case supports fast charging. Infinix has not published the playback time of the buds on a single charge or the charging speed.

How it compares
RM399 puts it in the same space as other clip-on earbuds that have reached Malaysia this year, such as the soundcore AeroClip 2. If you want to know how far an open-ear design can go at a higher price, our Shokz OpenFit Pro review is the benchmark we tested. Infinix also put its XPAD 30 Pro tablet on sale at the same 10 November, 8:00 PM slot.
