Open-ear earbuds have a simple pitch for anyone who juggles calls, commutes and background noise all day: keep your ears open to the room while you still hear your music and your caller. soundcore's next attempt at that reaches Malaysia on 28 September 2026, when Anker Malaysia brings the AeroClip 2 to local shelves.
The AeroClip 2 is a clip-on, open-ear design, so it rests on the ear rather than sealing the canal. Anker Malaysia is building the pitch around call clarity, and the earbuds carry the same Anker Thus AI chip the company put in its Liberty 5 Pro series earlier this year. Two bone-conduction sensors, which soundcore calls Voice Pickup Units, read the vibration of your voice to help separate it from wind and street noise on a call. soundcore says it is submitting the AeroClip 2's call performance for a Guinness World Records review, a claim worth treating as marketing until the certificate exists.

What soundcore is promising
The company groups the pitch into three points: an open-ear build that carries its clear-call work into a lighter form factor, better wearing comfort and sound than the first AeroClip, and simple pairing across both Apple and Android phones. The Thus chip is the thread running through all of it, the same on-device audio processor we looked at when soundcore first detailed the technology in May.
At the product's global unveiling at IFA Berlin, soundcore listed a 12mm driver, LDAC streaming for higher-bitrate audio, and up to eight hours of listening from the buds with around 32 hours including the case. Anker Malaysia has not yet confirmed which of those figures apply to the local unit, and says the full Malaysian specification arrives on 28 September, so treat the international numbers as a guide rather than a promise for now.
The Burgundy Red angle
Malaysia gets a colourway the company is tying to Apple's timing: a Burgundy Red finish meant to sit alongside the new Burgundy iPhone 18. It is a small detail, but it says something about who soundcore thinks buys open-ear buds, people who want the earbuds to read as an accessory rather than a gadget. The rest of the range's colours have not been detailed for Malaysia.
Malaysian price and pre-orders
Anker Malaysia has not announced the ringgit price yet, and says pricing and full details arrive on launch day. For rough context, soundcore set the international price at around USD170 (about RM720) when it revealed the AeroClip 2 abroad, though local pricing routinely differs and the RM figure is not confirmed.
Pre-orders run from 24 to 27 September through TikTok Shop, Shopee and Lazada. soundcore says Shopee pre-orders come with a Touch 'n Go card while stocks last. Open-ear buds are the fastest-growing corner of the earbud market precisely because they answer the awareness problem that sealed earbuds create.
