Most power banks ask nothing of you beyond remembering to charge them. The ORICO PixCharge wants to be looked at. It pairs a 5,000mAh battery with a small colour LED grid on the front, so the thing you carry to keep your phone alive can also show pixel art, a scrolling message, an emoji or a countdown timer. It has gone on sale in Malaysia.

Quick facts

- Output: 15W, with a built-in USB-C cable
- Weight: 132g, in black, blue, white and purple

What the PixCharge actually is
Underneath the display it is a compact everyday charger: 5,000mAh of capacity, 15W output, and a USB-C cable built into the body so you are not hunting for a spare lead. ORICO lists the weight at 132g, which keeps it in pocket and small-bag territory rather than something you feel all day.
The front is a 16x16 RGB pixel panel, and a companion app is where the personalisation happens. You can draw your own pixel art, type text that scrolls across the grid, drop in emojis, or build short animations. There is also a set of time tools built in, a countdown, an alarm, a stopwatch and a schedule, so the screen still earns its place when you are not charging anything.

The specs that matter
- Capacity: 5,000mAh, sized for a daily top-up, the commute and short trips rather than a weekend away.
- Output: 15W, enough for phones and small USB-C devices.
- Display: 16x16 RGB LED panel, controlled from the app.
- Cable: built-in USB-C, so there is nothing extra to carry.
- Weight: 132g, with a strap loop on the body.
- Safety: ORICO cites real-time NTC temperature monitoring and nine layers of protection against overcharging, overvoltage, overheating and short circuits.
- Colours: black, blue, white and purple.
Why it is worth a look
A 5,000mAh, 15W charger is modest on paper, and if raw endurance is all you want there are bigger, faster options. Our guide to choosing a power bank walks through where capacity and wattage actually matter, and our explainer on what a 5,000mAh rating really gets you is a useful reality check before you buy.
The PixCharge is chasing a different buyer: someone who treats an accessory as something to personalise, or who wants an easy gift. It sits alongside a run of charging gear leaning into novelty rather than just numbers, such as UGREEN's recent 160W charger and Qi2 MagFlow power bank launch. Whether a light-up grid is useful or simply fun is down to you, but it is a real point of difference in a category where most products look identical.

Price and availability
ORICO says the PixCharge has launched and is available across several e-commerce platforms in Malaysia, including Shopee. Malaysian pricing was not stated in the material we received, so check the current listing before buying. Full specifications are on ORICO's product page.
For a small charger, the PixCharge makes an unusually loud case for itself. If you have ever wanted your power bank to say something, this is the one that will.
