Huawei Watch 6 Series Lands in Malaysia on 3 November

If you have been holding out for a new smartwatch before the year-end sales, Huawei has given you a date to circle. The Huawei Watch 6 Series reaches Malaysia on 3 November, landing alongside a new pair of budget earbuds, and pre-orders are already open with a stack of bundled gifts for anyone who commits early.

What is new on the Huawei Watch 6 Series

The line splits into two models, the Watch 6 and the Watch 6 Pro, across 42mm, 43mm and 46mm case sizes. All of them use spherical sapphire glass over the display, while the Pro tier adds titanium on selected versions and nano-tech ceramic on the Watch 6 Pro Ceramic Edition. That Ceramic Edition carries 18K gold detailing around the crown, button and the X-TAP sensor, and a Space Edition pairs a black ceramic bezel with gold accents for a darker look.

Huawei has also upgraded the watch's Multi-Sensing X-TAP sensor, which lets you start a health reading with a single touch rather than digging through menus.

The health tracking is the headline

Health is where this generation puts its weight. Huawei says the Watch 6 Series is the first smartwatch in Malaysia to support both its Hypertension Risk Study and its Diabetes Risk Study, two research programmes that use the watch's sensors to track potential risk over time. The Health Glance feature, which runs a quick screening when you hold a finger to the watch, now covers 13 metrics instead of nine, spanning basic, cardiovascular, endocrine and respiratory health, and returns a result in about 60 seconds.

Those readings feed into Health Insights, a Morning Briefing and a daily Readiness score, so the idea is less about a single number and more about spotting patterns in how your body is doing day to day. If you want a sense of what this class of smartwatch delivers in daily use, our Redmi Watch 6 Lite review walks through what a RM249 health tracker gets you.

Beyond health: calls, two phones and a safety net

The Watch 6 Series is built to stand on its own too. eSIM support means you can take and make calls from the watch without your phone on you, and Dual-Phone Connection lets it pair with two handsets at once, handy if you carry a work phone and a personal one. There is also a Safety Check feature that can share your location and status with chosen contacts, plus gesture controls for answering calls or dismissing alerts without tapping the screen.

Huawei has been busy on the phone side as well, though not everything reaches us: its latest flagship, the Huawei Mate 90, has not been confirmed for a Malaysian launch.

Huawei FreeBuds SE 5 Max: a lot of battery for RM159

Sharing the stage is the Huawei FreeBuds SE 5 Max, priced at RM159. The pitch here is endurance: up to 10 hours of playback on a single charge, and up to 80 hours in total with the charging case, which covers most people for a week or more between top-ups. They carry up to 52dB of adaptive noise cancellation and a six-microphone setup for calls, support Hi-Res Audio with LDAC, and can connect to two devices at once across iOS and Android. An IP55 rating means they will shrug off sweat and light rain on a commute.

Price, pre-orders and where to buy

Both products go on sale in Malaysia on 3 November through the Huawei Official Store and Huawei's official storefronts on Shopee, Lazada and TikTok Shop. Huawei has not confirmed local pricing for the Watch 6 Series yet, though the FreeBuds SE 5 Max is set at RM159.

Pre-orders run from now until 2 November. Huawei says buyers who register a pre-order get bundled gifts worth up to RM993, which include a pair of HUAWEI FreeBuds SE 2, three months of Huawei Health+, a month of the Watch Face membership, a one-year APAC warranty, a one-year Worry-Free package and an extra watch strap in the box.

Final pricing for the watch is the one piece still missing, and it will decide how the Watch 6 Series stacks up against the usual Samsung and Apple options landing in the same window. For now the pre-order gifts are the draw, and the clock runs until 2 November.
