Infinix is having a moment in Malaysian search. On our own pages, the brand drew roughly 700 search impressions in the week of 4 to 10 October, up from a negligible level the week before, with queries like "infinix smart 20e" and "infinix gt nx controller" among those that rose. The rise coincides with a launch: Infinix brought the SMART 20e to Malaysia from RM499 for the 4GB/64GB model, an entry-level 4G phone.
So the obvious story is a cheap phone. Our own click data adds a twist.
From 1 August to 13 October 2026, visitors on our Malaysian pages tapped Infinix buy buttons 701 times, by our own click logs. The chart above shows the brand's seven most-clicked models on our pages. The four at the top were all Note, Zero or GT phones: the Note Edge 5G led on 113 clicks, the GT 30 Pro on 110, the Zero X Neo on 82 and the Zero Flip on 71. The HOT 60 5G, from Infinix's entry HOT line, sat lowest of the seven on 47.
Infinix leans into gaming in Malaysia. It has tied itself to MPL Malaysia, the mobile-esports league, and its GT line is pitched squarely at players. The RM499 SMART 20e is a budget model; the listings that drew the most clicks came from Infinix's Note, Zero and GT lines. You can see where the brand's range lands in our guide to mid-range phones under RM2,000.
We put one of those mid-range Notes through its paces, with exactly the budget-gamer question its buyers are asking:
It helps to see where Infinix sits overall. Among the seven phone brands we tracked on our Malaysian pages over the same period, Infinix placed sixth by buy-button clicks, on 701. Samsung led on 14,006 and the combined Xiaomi and Redmi lines on 9,559, then vivo on 2,371, OPPO on 2,296 and realme on 1,090, with TECNO last on 190. We group Xiaomi and Redmi together because Redmi is Xiaomi's own sub-brand; the rest are counted separately.

Sixth of seven leaves Infinix a long way behind the top two, though well clear of TECNO at the bottom. Part of the current interest is not a phone at all. One of the queries climbing on our pages, "infinix gt nx controller", points at the GT NX controller and cooling station bundle, a clip-on gamepad aimed at the same players the GT phones court.
Two caveats keep this honest. These are click figures from our pages alone, from August to the middle of October, and a click on a buy button is a signal of intent, not a confirmed sale. The SMART 20e also arrived only in the final days of that window, so it has barely entered these figures. What the window does show is that the four Infinix listings with the most clicks were all Note, Zero or GT phones. If you are weighing the brand against rivals, our roundup of the best phones for photography in Malaysia covers how its cameras compare.
The next read comes with the November click data, once the SMART 20e has had a full month on shelves. That is when we will see whether the RM499 phone starts drawing clicks of its own, or whether they keep landing on the Note, Zero and GT models.
