The GT Series phone maker is back alongside the country's biggest mobile esports league.

Infinix MPL Malaysia partnership is back for Season 18

The renewal arrives just as the new season gets going. MPL Malaysia Season 18 kicked off on 14 August 2026 with eight partner teams chasing the MPL Malaysia trophy, and it remains the country's largest and longest running professional esports league. This is its second season under the league's Partnership Programme, which is meant to build up the local scene beyond the matches themselves.

Mobile Legends: Bang Bang has one of the biggest competitive followings in Malaysia, so an official gaming phone partner is the brand players see across the broadcasts, the arena and the team content through the whole season.

What Infinix as official gaming phone partner means

Infinix is not new to this. MOONTON Games and Infinix have backed MPL Malaysia together before, teaming up as far back as Season 15 in 2025, and the brand has held the league's gaming phone billing in the seasons since. Last season the Infinix GT 30 Pro launched as the official MPL gaming phone at RM1,299, so Season 18 is a continuation rather than a first date.

Where the GT Series fits for Malaysian players

The GT Series is Infinix's gaming focused line, aimed at players who want steady performance without paying flagship money. The most recent local release, the Infinix GT 50 Pro with micro-pump liquid cooling, sits at RM1,899, while the GT 30 Pro holds the more affordable end of the range. That price positioning is the point of the tie-up: MPL reaches a wide, young Malaysian audience, and Infinix is pitching gaming phones most of them can actually buy.

What to watch this season

Season 18 is already underway, so the partnership is live rather than a plan for later. Expect Infinix branding through the broadcasts and, going by previous seasons, GT Series activations and promotions tied to the competition. If you follow MPL Malaysia, the short version is simple: the league is back, the stakes are higher with eight partner teams in the race, and Infinix is once again the phone brand riding alongside it.
