Drivers around Rawang now have a closer place to shop for an MG, and soon to service one too. SAIC Motor Malaysia has opened its first MG 3S Centre in the town, operated by dealer SNS Kembara Utama, putting the brand's cars and aftersales support within easier reach of buyers in the area rather than a drive into the Klang Valley.

What has opened in Rawang

The new outlet sits in the Rawang Hi-Tech Industrial Area, housed in a one-and-a-half-storey semi-attached factory of roughly 1,200 square metres. A 3S centre normally brings sales, service and spare parts together under one roof. For now the Rawang branch handles the sales side, with aftersales work to follow once the service centre is fully up and running. While they visit, customers get a lounge with Wi-Fi, coffee and snacks.

The centre started operating on 17 August 2026. It opens from 9.00am to 5.30pm on Monday to Saturday, and from 11.00am to 4.00pm on Sundays and public holidays. Walk-in visitors can look over MG's current line-up and get a first look at the MGS5 EV.

Why the expansion matters

With Rawang added, MG's Malaysian sales and service network now stands at 26 outlets nationwide. The brand has built its local push around electric and electrified models, and a nearby showroom counts for a lot with EV shoppers who want to sit in the car and ask about charging and warranty before they commit.

The move mirrors what rivals are doing on the ground. Proton's e.MAS brand has been adding showrooms at pace, and newer arrivals such as the BYD SEALION 7 keep widening their Malaysian ranges. More outlets closer to where people live is how these brands turn curiosity into signed orders beyond the city centre.

"Expanding our dealer network is an important part of MG's growth in Malaysia," said Emory Qi, Managing Director of SAIC Motor Malaysia. The Rawang centre is run by SNS Kembara Utama, an automotive company with close to 19 years in the trade that also operates three Ford outlets in Ipoh.

Getting there

Buyers can reach SNS Kembara Utama MG Rawang on 016-515 8059 or by email at [email protected] to arrange a test drive. Full details on the range sit on the official MG Malaysia website.

For anyone in Rawang who had been eyeing an MG but did not fancy the drive into town to find one, that trip just got a good deal shorter.
