Why the GIGABYTE AORUS P1600W matters

Announced on 4 August 2026 after its first showing at COMPUTEX 2026, the GIGABYTE AORUS P1600W 80+ Titanium Modular PCIe 5.1 AI TOP delivers 1600W of output at 80 PLUS Titanium efficiency, the highest consumer tier. What stands out is the size. At 160mm long, it is one of the more compact 1600W units in its class, which leaves more room for components and cable management inside a standard ATX case.

Inside, GIGABYTE uses Gallium Nitride (GaN) parts to pack more power into the smaller body, a digital power design for steadier delivery, and 100% Japanese capacitors that the company says hold up better through long gaming sessions and sustained compute work. It meets the current ATX 3.1 and PCIe 5.1 standards, so it is ready for the newest graphics cards and their power connectors.

Built for multi-GPU and local AI

That 1600W of headroom is really about feeding several graphics cards at once. The P1600W supports configurations with up to four graphics cards, and ships with two native 16-pin-to-16-pin PCIe cables plus two dual-8-pin-to-16-pin PCIe cables for high-end multi-GPU setups. It is the same class of power planning you would do around any of the current top graphics cards, well beyond a mainstream part like the one in AMD's recent Radeon RX 9050 launch.

The AI angle is not just marketing. As part of GIGABYTE's AI TOP ecosystem, the P1600W works with the AI TOP Utility, so you can track power draw during AI workloads alongside the rest of your system data from a single dashboard. For anyone running large models locally rather than in the cloud, that makes it easier to see what a job is actually costing in watts.

Power you can actually see

An LCD Edge View display sits on the unit and shows real-time information such as accumulated and current power consumption. The full-colour screen can be personalised with your own content through GIGABYTE Control Center, so it works as both a small status readout and a finishing touch in a windowed build.

Cooling, noise and cabling

A 140mm double ball bearing fan with intelligent fan control keeps the unit near-silent at low and medium loads while staying dependable under sustained high power, according to GIGABYTE. A dust-removal function reverses the fan at startup or on demand through software to help keep airflow clear over time. The supply is fully modular with sleeved cables, which makes for tidier routing in a crowded multi-GPU case, and it slots in alongside the rest of GIGABYTE's AORUS hardware, including the AORUS ELITE liquid coolers the company launched earlier this month.
