For Malaysians heading to Saudi Arabia for Hajj or Umrah, staying in touch with family back home usually means paying a roaming bill on top of everything else the trip costs. Tune Talk is taking that cost away for eligible customers, giving them complimentary E-Roaming in Saudi Arabia so they can land, connect and keep their attention on the pilgrimage itself.
The benefit took effect on 1 August 2026. Eligible subscribers can use their existing data allocation while abroad, and the E-Roaming service switches on automatically the moment they arrive in Saudi Arabia. There are no separate roaming passes to buy, no activation codes to key in and no extra steps to sort out at the airport.

Who qualifies for Tune Talk's free E-Roaming
The complimentary E-Roaming in Saudi Arabia is open to Tune Talk subscribers on these Epik+ plans:
- Epik+ 50
- Epik+ Family
- Epik+ Family Safe
- Epik+ 35, subscribed for more than six months
- Epik+ 28, subscribed for more than six months
Each eligible subscriber with a MyKad is entitled to one month of complimentary E-Roaming in Saudi Arabia. Customers who have not yet met the six-month tenure requirement can still buy E-Roaming separately as an add-on. The Epik+ range is the same postpaid family that Tune Talk built its network-enforced Family Safe controls around, so households already on those plans do not need to move to qualify.
What it saves a pilgrim
According to industry estimates and prevailing market rates cited by Tune Talk, Malaysian pilgrims typically spend around RM89 to RM180 a month on mobile roaming during Umrah and Hajj. For a family travelling together, that adds up quickly, and it is money going towards staying reachable rather than towards the journey.
The scale is what makes it worth a telco's while. Malaysia sends roughly 300,000 pilgrims for Umrah each year, along with about 31,600 for Hajj. Being connected on arrival also has a practical side beyond calling home: pilgrims can arrange transport, find their way around unfamiliar surroundings and stay with their travel group without first hunting for a local SIM.
Part of Tune Talk's roaming push
The move extends a run of roaming offers from the operator. Earlier in 2026, Tune Talk rolled out E-Roaming that lets prepaid customers use their full data allowance across 13 countries at no extra charge. The Saudi Arabia benefit applies the same idea to a single, high-demand destination and ties it to the pilgrimage season, when Malaysians are most likely to need it.
Tune Talk frames the initiative as part of its shift towards a digital-first mobile service, where the aim is to strip friction out of the experience rather than simply add more add-ons. "We believe that during such a pivotal life event, seamless connectivity should be a given, not a luxury or a logistical hurdle," said Gurtaj Singh Padda, Co-Founder and CEO of Tune Talk.
