Anyone who travels out of Malaysia knows the drill: land somewhere new and your phone suddenly feels rationed. Data runs low, speeds drop, and you are back to hunting for a travel SIM or a roaming pass. Tune Talk says its new plan removes that step entirely.
The mobile operator has launched Tune Talk E-Roaming, built directly into its RM50 Epik+ 50 prepaid plan. It lets subscribers use their full 500GB home data allocation overseas at full speed, with no extra roaming charge. Phones auto-connect on landing, so there is no travel pass to buy and no second eSIM to activate.

What Tune Talk E-Roaming includes
E-Roaming is live across 13 countries: Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, the Philippines, Cambodia, Brunei, Japan, South Korea, India, Saudi Arabia, Australia and New Zealand. Those cover most of where Malaysians travel. There is no registration or activation code, and the plan connects automatically on arrival. Tune Talk says the feature also extends to its Epik+ Family and Epik+ Family Safe plans, so children on family lines stay connected abroad too.
Tune Talk describes Epik+ 50 with E-Roaming as the world's first prepaid plan to combine five things in one package: a prepaid structure, complimentary roaming, the full 500GB home data allocation, full speed with no roaming throttling, and coverage across 13 countries. The company notes the claim is based on publicly available operator offerings as of June 2026.
Why it matters
Roaming has long been sold as a premium add-on: a separate pass, or a limited global eSIM with slower speeds. Building it into a standard local plan changes that model for prepaid users.
"Why should your phone behave differently just because you crossed a border?" said Gurtaj Singh Padda, Co-Founder and CEO of Tune Talk. He said the company is absorbing roaming costs to turn a common traveller frustration into a reason to stay with the network.
Price and availability
Epik+ 50 costs RM50 a month. Tune Talk puts the total value at about RM156 a month when compared against separate roaming passes, insurance products and digital subscriptions, though that figure is the company's own benchmark. E-Roaming is available now through the Tune Talk app and at tunetalk.com/eroaming.
The takeaway
For frequent regional travellers on prepaid, the appeal is simple: the data you already pay for follows you across 13 borders, at the same speed, without extra steps. If you mostly travel within Asia, it is worth checking whether your usual roaming spend is now built into the plan.
