HONOR Malaysia is making a big move that goes beyond selling smartphones — it wants to put one in your hand at some of Malaysia's most iconic destinations and have you compete for flagship devices while doing it. The Magic Stories Awards 2026 and its accompanying nationwide Photography Workshop Tour are HONOR's most ambitious local campaign yet, and it ties neatly into the government's Visit Malaysia 2026 push.
Win a Foldable Just by Shooting on Your Phone

The centrepiece of this campaign is the Magic Stories Awards 2026, open for submissions from 27 April to 15 September 2026, with winners announced in October. The competition spans six themes — cityscape, people and culture, nature, food, hidden gems, and animals — covering practically every corner of what makes Malaysia visually compelling.
There are 21 prizes up for grabs. The Photographer of the Year walks away with HONOR's flagship foldable smartphone, two Master of Photography winners each receive the HONOR Magic8 Pro, three Prestigious Photographers get the HONOR 600 Pro, and 15 HONORable Photographers receive the HONOR 600. The catch? Every submission must be shot on an HONOR device, which is clearly a calculated move to drive product engagement. For existing HONOR users, though, this is genuinely compelling. Winning entries also earn a shot at the global HONOR Magic Stories Awards, opening doors to international recognition.
Seven Destinations, Real Skills, No Gimmicks
Running from 9 May to 11 July 2026, HONOR's Magic Stories Photography Workshop hits seven locations across six states — Penang Hill, Kota Bharu, Taman Negara, Genting Highlands, Sabah, Perlis, and Kuching. If you think this is just a marketing roadshow, think again. Participants receive hands-on coaching in mobile photography across distinct themes, such as architecture, culture, nature, and portraiture, at each stop.
The workshops centre around the HONOR 600 Pro's camera system, giving attendees a real feel for the device's capabilities in varied real-world shooting conditions. CelcomDigi is also backing the tour as the Official Connectivity Partner, handling on-ground connectivity so participants can shoot, upload, and share without friction.
What It Means for Us Malaysians
This initiative sits at a smart intersection of tourism, community, and technology. For budget-conscious photographers who already own an HONOR device, the workshop offers free exposure to pro-level guidance at stunning local landmarks. For aspiring creators, the award prizes represent serious value, with flagship devices worth thousands of ringgit.
The Visit Malaysia 2026 alignment also means HONOR's campaign benefits from broader national momentum, potentially amplifying participant content across tourism channels. That said, the HONOR-only submission rule keeps this closed to Samsung, Apple, or Xiaomi users, which is the single biggest limiting factor for wider participation.
