From Left_ Deputy Country Director of HONOR Malaysia, Ethan Chen and HONOR Imaging System Expert, Dr Weilong Hou showing the newly launched HONOR 600 Series

The HONOR 600 Pro Debuts in Malaysia

Accessible flagship gets serious

HONOR is doubling down on its “accessible flagship” strategy with the global debut of the HONOR 600 Series in Malaysia. Positioned between mid-range and premium, the new lineup promises flagship-level performance, camera capabilities, and battery life without crossing into ultra-premium pricing. For Malaysians who prioritise value, this could be one of the most interesting smartphone launches of 2026.

Camera Upgrades: Pushing Zoom and AI Creativity

The HONOR 600 Series puts heavy emphasis on imaging, featuring a 200MP main sensor and up to 120x zoom on the Pro model. Combined with advanced stabilisation and a Night Engine for low-light performance, the setup aims to rival flagship-level photography.

Compared to previous HONOR models and competitors in the same price range, this is a significant step forward. While brands like Samsung and Xiaomi offer strong camera systems, HONOR is pushing higher zoom capabilities and stabilisation as its key differentiator.

The addition of AI Image to Video 2.0 also introduces a new layer of creativity, allowing users to generate short videos from still images. While innovative, we feel that this feature may appeal more to content creators than everyday users.

Performance: Closing the Gap with Flagships

The HONOR 600 Pro is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, marking a major leap for the N Series. This brings it closer to true flagship territory, with noticeable gains in CPU and GPU performance.

Meanwhile, the standard model uses the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4, offering solid performance for gaming and daily tasks. Compared to previous generations, both models show meaningful improvements rather than incremental upgrades.

This translates into smoother multitasking and longer device lifespan, which are key considerations when spending above RM2,500.

Battery and Display: Practical Advantages That Matter

One of the biggest highlights is the 7,000mAh battery, which stands out in a market where most devices still hover around 5,000mAh. Combined with fast charging and reverse charging, this could be a major selling point for heavy users.

The display also pushes boundaries with up to 8,000 nits peak brightness and a 120Hz refresh rate, improving outdoor visibility—something particularly relevant in our country's bright and hot climate.

These features offer tangible everyday benefits, making them more impactful than headline-grabbing specs alone.

Durability and Value: Built for Real-World Use

HONOR is also focusing on durability, introducing IP69K water- and dust-resistance alongside drop certifications. This goes beyond what many competitors offer in this price segment.

Pricing starts at RM2,599, with the Pro model reaching RM3,299. Combined with aggressive pre-order bundles, the overall value proposition is strong, especially compared to flagship devices that often cost significantly more.

However, Malaysians may still weigh this against long-term software support and brand ecosystem, where Samsung and Apple continue to have an edge.

Conclusion: HONOR Still a Strong Contender in a Competitive Market

The HONOR 600 Series represents a clear evolution of the accessible flagship category. With meaningful upgrades in camera, performance, and battery, it challenges the idea that premium features must come with premium pricing.

This is a compelling option. But, as always, the real test lies in long-term performance and user experience
