Samsung's Galaxy Unpacked 2023 has just happened, and during the event, the brand introduced the latest addition to their flagship S Series: the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.
After months and months of speculations, the newest members of the Galaxy S Series are finally out. Released alongside two other models, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is the highest-specced smartphone in the Galaxy S23 Series. It will be available for pre-order until 23rd February 2023 & priced from RM5,699 onwards.

Design-wise, the Galaxy S23 Ultra looks very similar to its predecessor, the Galaxy S22 Ultra, maintaining the same slightly-curved screen and the signature “floating camera” design, which has also been brought over to the S23’s Plus and base models for uniformity.
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra will be available in four colours, plus another four online-exclusive colours:
- Phantom Black
- Cream
- Green
- Lavender
The biggest upgrade on the Galaxy S23 Ultra has to be its camera system, both rear and front-facing. This isn’t surprising, as the S Series is where Samsung presents its best smartphone camera technology. The rear camera on the Galaxy S23 is equipped with a 200MP Adaptive Pixel sensor that can take pro-grade night photos with more detailed and natural colours.
On the front, the Galaxy S23 Ultra boasts Samsung's first-ever Super HDR selfie camera with fast auto-focus to allow users to up their selfie game considerably.
For those who like ultimate creative control over their photography, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is also able to take DSLR-level raw images with Samsung Expert RAW, plus the ability to take photos of the night sky complete with a constellation guide. The Expert RAW app will not come pre-downloaded in the Galaxy S23 Ultra, though, since Samsung wants to minimize bloatware in its devices. The app will be available for download in the Galaxy Store, but once downloaded, you will be able to access the features straight from your camera app.
Equipping the newest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor that is exclusively optimized for Galaxy, the Galaxy S23 Ultra is able to deliver faster and smoother gaming performance. The improved GPU is 41% faster compared to the Galaxy S22 series while the newly-designed CPU microarchitecture gives the Galaxy S23 Ultra 30% more powerful processing abilities to keep up with the power users.
