Samsung's biggest tech event of the year has just happened, and one of the highlights of this year’s Galaxy Unpacked was the announcement of the brand-new Galaxy S23 series.
The Galaxy S23 Series will come in three models: the Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23 Plus, and Galaxy S23.
Apart from the huge 200MP camera sensor that graced the Ultra model, the Galaxy S23 Plus has also seen some upgrades in both software and hardware.
The Galaxy S23+ will be available for pre-order until 23rd February 2023 & retail from RM4,699 onwards in Malaysia.

One of the most notable differences in the Galaxy is that it has received an upgrade in the design alongside the Galaxy S23. Both models now boast the same “floating camera” design on the rear, just like the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. According to Samsung, this marks “a new era of essential Galaxy design”, hinting that this will be the mainstream design on Samsung flagships moving forward.
The Galaxy S23 Plus is available in four colours, along with another two online-exclusive colours:
- Phantom Black
- Cream
- Green
- Lavender
The Samsung Galaxy S23 Plus is powered by Qualcomm’s newest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, but with a twist — the processor is specifically optimized for the Galaxy S23 series to make the most powerful and efficient platform yet in a Galaxy smartphone and the fastest Snapdragon available as of now.
With this processor, both CPU and GPU in the Galaxy S23 Plus are considerably faster compared to the Galaxy S22 Series. The bigger vapour chamber also helps cool down the phone to ensure longer and more consistent performance.
Aligning with the Galaxy S23 Ultra, the Galaxy S23 Plus has an improved 12MP selfie camera that supports Super HDR and fast autofocus. Users will also be able to take front-facing videos of up to 60fps!
The new S23 Series also boasts the first-ever Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2. This ultra-durable screen not only offers longer use but also aligns with Samsung’s sustainability vision, as it consists of 22% pre-consumer recycled content.
