1. Flex Mode
Designed exclusively for the foldable Galaxy Z Flip and Z Fold series, the Flex Mode is more than just a gimmick. Flex Mode activates the moment when the device is half-folded.
Apps in Flex Mode will automatically adjust to fit the folded screen. The UI layout follows the basic rules: Viewing on top, Control on the bottom. In the new fourth-generation Galaxy Z Flip4, Flex Mode has a different name in the Camera app: the FlexCam.
Simply put, FlexCam is a new versatile, hands-free camera experience using Flex Mode. With the flexible hinge and flexible display, you can capture mind-blowing shots from different perspectives. You won’t miss a tripod anymore as you don’t even need one now. Simply fold and adjust your phone to capture group photos, and selfies or record video at your desired angles.
2. New Taskbar
Available only on the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Galaxy Tab series, you get to enhance your daily productivity using the super-handy Taskbar.
To keep it simple, the new Taskbar allows you to easily manage your favourite apps, switch between them, create Multi Window, and much more. Just drag an app from the Taskbar and you can instantly create a Multi Window that can significantly improve your multitasking experience.
There is a search button for finding apps and a mini calendar for a quick check on your schedule. Any new notification will appear as a red dot so you won’t miss any important messages. And of course, you can always customise the buttons and apps you want to pin on the Taskbar according to your preferences.
3. Enhanced Cover Screen
Your phone, your style. You can now express your personality freely on the customisable 1.9-inch Cover Screen. Tailor the clock face with your best-looking photos, mesmerising videos and even your own cute AR emoji to stand out from the rest.
Not only that, the enhanced cover screen brings you access to different features without opening the Main Screen. Tap and swipe to navigate and change Quick Settings, add widgets as well as reply to texts.
Also, great news for selfie lovers: you can also have a real-time preview on the Cover Screen to make sure you look great in every photo. Check your hairstyle, and makeup plus remember to smile before hitting the shutter.
4. Bonus: Optimised Software For Better Battery Life
At 3700mAh, the Galaxy Z Flip4 doesn’t have the biggest battery capacity out there, but capacity doesn’t always mean a longer battery life. The Galaxy Z Flip4 still has a long battery life thanks to the various optimisations to increase power efficiency.
Let’s get started with the most basic step: Enable power-saving mode. Once enabled, the Galaxy Z Flip4 will smartly monitor and manage the phone settings and background activities. Bear in mind that the performance will be reduced as the CPU throttles to save extra power.
There is also the Auto Optimise Daily feature under the Device Care settings. You can set optimisation once per day and clean up apps to free up RAM and save on battery consumption. Since the optimisation only works when the screen is off, we suggest setting a time when the phone is not in use.
Last but not least, always keep your phone updated. Software updates will normally include improvements to the performance, removal of bugs, and latest features. All these can potentially improve your phone’s power efficiency and prolong the battery life.
