Samsung revealed its latest flagship smartphone lineup, the Galaxy S23 series, just earlier this month at the Galaxy Unpacked 2023. The newest flagships are now available for purchase nationwide, with amazing deals and promotions up for grabs!

Along with this major release, Samsung has announced the brand new One UI 5.1, which will come out-of-box for the Galaxy S23 series and will begin to roll out worldwide for other Galaxy smartphones, starting with the Galaxy S22 series and the Galaxy Z Flip4 and Z Fold4.

According to Samsung, its latest One UI 5.1 update promises an enhanced user experience by providing Galaxy users with a more visually appealing interface. With this update, you can expect new features that can enable greater creativity and personalization so you can make your phone truly yours.

So what exactly does One UI 5.1 offer?

A Nice Camera Isn’t Enough

No doubt you’ve heard of the amazing camera capabilities and the 200MP camera on the Galaxy S23 Ultra. One UI 5.1 adds to that by giving you greater flexibility with the already incredible camera: through the ExpertRAW app!

Basically, the ExpertRAW app gives you DSLR-level control and quality over your snaps. Now, you no longer have to invest thousands in a separate device just for taking photos: the Galaxy S23 Ultra can do it all!

Besides that, the AI-based Photo Remaster can also automatically touch up your photos by enhancing brightness, fine-tuning details, and correcting colours even in undesirable lighting conditions. The end picture is an almost picture-for-picture rendition of what you see with your own eyes!

You have to download the ExpertRAW app separately through the Galaxy Store, but once downloaded, it’s available directly in the Galaxy Camera app.

Nothing Like A Unique Mobile Experience

Galaxy users have always been afforded great control over their device’s user interface, and that doesn’t change with One UI 5.1. In fact, the newest OS upgrade brings even more exciting new features that will allow you to fine-tune almost every aspect of your phone — appearance, navigation, calls, and more!

One of our favourite features is the new dynamic weather widget that can analyse and create a custom design according to the current weather condition. It’s so much easier to tell the weather at a glance, and it’s also quite refreshing since you don’t have to stare at the same old layout all the time!

Apart from the weather widget, users will also be able to personalise their phones according to specific activities through the Modes and Routines feature. From custom wallpapers, ringtones and touch sensitivity to sound modes and fonts, there’s really everything you need to make the mundane daily less boring.

Interconnect Everything In Your Life

Have a Galaxy device? Then you don’t want to miss out on joining the Galaxy Ecosystem. The One UI 5.1 upgrade has also introduced new features to better integrate Galaxy users into the Galaxy Ecosystem, starting with expanding Multi Control.

Now, users will be able to share mice, keyboards, and trackpads across different Galaxy devices, including Galaxy Book, Galaxy Tablet, and Galaxy smartphones. Not only that, but you’ll also be able to copy and paste images from one device to another seamlessly — just drag and drop them!
