2. Thread Count
The number of horizontal and vertical threads per square inch is referred to as thread count. Manufacturing processes enable companies to manufacture high thread counts without sacrificing quality.
The greater the thread count, the finer the sheet and the more likely it will age well, softening with time.
Good sheets have numerals ranging from 200 to 800, with numbers exceeding 1,000 on occasion. A high thread count does not necessarily indicate that the sheets are of high quality.
