A portable power station usually needs a bag of adapters before it can charge from anything other than a wall socket. The new DJI Power Auro 2000 Elite builds them in. It is a 2kWh unit rated for 2000W of output, it connects straight to a car battery or solar panels, and it is on sale in Malaysia now at RM6,509.

DJI Power Auro 2000 Elite: size and output
DJI says the Auro 2000 Elite is its most compact 2kWh power station. Against the older DJI Power 2000 it is 24% smaller by volume and 14% lighter, at about 19kg. Every socket and port sits on one side, so it stays usable whether you stand it upright or lay it flat in a car boot.
It delivers up to 2000W of continuous output and, according to DJI, can run selected appliances rated at around 2200W. DJI tunes it for everyday loads of 100W to 400W, which covers things like a fan, a router, lights, a laptop and camera batteries during a camping trip, a shoot or a power cut at home.
Five ways to recharge it
- Wall socket: up to 2000W input, 0% to 80% in 60 minutes.
- Car battery: through the built-in car charger, full in as little as four hours.
- Solar: the two SDC ports take up to 1200W of solar input together, a full charge in about 2.7 hours.
- Solar and car at once: up to 600W from each source.
- Hybrid: mains plus solar or car input, up to 2000W combined.

The 140W USB-C cable pulls out and retracts on its own and charges PD 3.1 devices such as laptops at up to 140W. The cable module can be replaced if it wears out. For smaller jobs, a pocket option like the TechLife 5000mAh power bank on sale for RM11 this 11.11 is a very different, cheaper tool.
Safety, UPS mode and noise
The LFP cells have passed nail penetration, impact and drop tests, and DJI rates them at more than 70% capacity after 6,000 cycles, which it equates to about 10 years of daily use. The battery management system uses 13 temperature sensors and 40 built-in fuses and pauses the unit if it detects a fault. The casing carries a 5VB flame-retardant rating and DJI says it can take a static load of up to one tonne.

In UPS mode it switches to battery power within 0.01 seconds, which is meant to keep a router or desktop running through a short outage. At low loads DJI says it stays under 30dB. The DJI Home app shows power status and turns on a faster recharge mode with one tap.
For drone and camera users
With DJI's separate Power Fast Charge Cable for Drones, the SDC ports charge drone batteries at up to 240W. DJI quotes 10% to 95% in 30 minutes for an Air 3 Series battery and 35 minutes for a Matrice 4 Series battery, and lists the Mavic 4 Pro among compatible drones. A separate SDC to PoE cable powers a DJI O4 Ground Station directly.
