Most slots are capped at five units a day; the robot vacuum is capped at three units on 8 November and two on 9 November. Prices hold only inside each time slot and while stock lasts.

Opening-day gifts and the Lucky Wheel

On 8 November, trying any product in the store and following Xiaomi's social media accounts gets you a Xiaomi card holder, one per person. On the same day, a single receipt of RM199 or more gets a Xiaomi water bottle, and RM399 or more gets a grand opening cross-body bag, one gift per receipt.

A single receipt of RM500 or more from this store between 1 and 8 November earns one spin on a Lucky Wheel from 12PM on 8 November. The grand prize is a Xiaomi 17T Pro (12GB + 256GB), and other prizes include a Mi TV P1 43-inch and an air fryer.

Why 100 stores matters

Xiaomi opened its first physical store in Malaysia in 2017. The 118 Mall outlet brings the network to 100 stores across 12 states, stocking 340 products in 454 variants, from phones and tablets to wearables, smart home gear and some large home appliances you can see in person before you buy. Xiaomi also offers doorstep delivery from its stores.

That expansion runs against the wider trend. Our own analysis of Department of Statistics figures found that sales at Malaysia's specialist tech stores rose only 21% between 2018 and 2025, the slowest of all nine retail groups. A brand still adding shops at that pace is betting that buyers want to hold a phone, or watch a robot vacuum work, before paying for it.

Country manager Xingyu Yang put the store's job beyond the sale: a place where customers can try products and "receive the support they need throughout their ownership journey." For wearables shoppers, our Redmi Watch 6 Lite review is a useful check on how Xiaomi's budget end holds up in daily use.

The takeaway

If you were already weighing a Xiaomi 17 Ultra, RM4,999 with the Photography Kit Pro thrown in is RM500 under its usual price until 9 November. For the RM39.50 earbuds or the RM649.50 robot vacuum, you need to be at Merdeka 118 at the right hour on 8 or 9 November, and early.
