This is our own short for Pocket Cinematic: five three-second pairings of behind-the-scenes phone footage against the graded shot it became, shot on an iPhone 18 Pro with the BlackMagic Camera app and graded afterwards with our own Kodak Dusk LUT.
It is a companion piece to our 4 camera movements that make phone video look cinematic: no crew, no rig beyond what is already on the desk, a phone propped against whatever is nearby and recording the next clip while the one before it gets graded.

Propping the phone up before a scene

That is the whole rig for the BTS half of every pairing in this clip: a phone leaned against whatever is already on the desk. The graded half underneath it, in the half of each frame the clip labels RESULTS, is the same shot after the BlackMagic footage goes through DaVinci Resolve and the Kodak Dusk LUT.
Checking the shot before recording

Every one of the five pairings in the clip follows this same loop: set the phone recording, check it, let it run. We kept the pictures here to the BTS half on purpose. The truthful enhancer that cuts our stills will not crop into the on-screen RESULTS caption text, so the clean way to see the graded half next to the raw one is the embedded video itself, not a still pulled from it.
The last clip in the sequence

We covered the same iPhone 18 Pro's Photographic Styles earlier this month in our KL haze piece, shot the same handheld way this one was.
If the gap between that BTS half and the graded RESULTS half is what you want to close on your own footage, our own Pocket Cinematic course, RM349 for lifetime access, walks through the exact BlackMagic Camera App and Kodak Dusk LUT workflow this clip uses.
