For Malaysian players who have been circling Borderlands 4 without buying in, this weekend is the cheapest time to try it. A free-play weekend has started alongside the game's biggest content drop so far, so you can test the whole thing before paying for any of it.
Today, 2K and Gearbox Software rolled out the Version 1.10 update for Borderlands 4. It bundles three separate pieces of content: Story Pack 2 (FL4K and the Last Resort), a new playable Vault Hunter called Loveless the Hacker, and Bounty Pack 5 (Amara and the Vile Shadows). The update also raises the maximum level cap by 10 for every player and rebalances the existing Vault Hunters.

Borderlands 4 Story Pack 2: a new island and a rescue
In Story Pack 2, players team up with the returning beastmaster FL4K to save their skag companion Mr. Chew from the Tediore corporation, set on the tropical island of Providence. The zone adds new missions, collectibles, boss fights and loot, with ziplines to grapple across the jungle and a route into Tediore's digiverse servers. Clearing it can reward two new Pearlescent weapons and 18 pieces of Legendary gear. This follows the Version 1.8 update earlier in the year, which added a free endgame raid and Bounty Pack 3.
Loveless the Hacker joins the roster
Loveless is an ex-Anshin hacker turned assassin, built around Critical Hits, status effects, and Corrosive and Radiation damage. She is playable across the full base game and every DLC zone, so you are not locked into the new content to use her.
Bounty Pack 5 and a higher level cap
Bounty Pack 5 sends players alongside Amara to investigate Phase disturbances on Elpis, with a new boss, two mini-bosses and rewards that include a Vault Hunter Skin, a vehicle and an ECHO-4 Drone Skin. A separate Vault Card 5 adds 24 cosmetic items and four pieces of rerollable gear earned through play. Version 1.10 also lifts the level cap by 10 levels, and individual parts of the earlier Story Pack 1 and Bounty Pack 2 can now be bought on their own.
A free weekend to try it
The timing matters for anyone still on the fence. A free-play weekend starts today across PlayStation 5 (through PlayStation Plus), Xbox Series X|S (through Xbox Game Pass) and PC (through Steam), giving access to the complete base game. It runs until 13 September on Xbox and 14 September on PlayStation and Steam (US Pacific time), and any progress carries over if you buy the game after. Borderlands 4 sells in Malaysia through the same PlayStation, Xbox, Steam and Epic Games stores. It caps a busy run for 2K, whose NBA 2K27 launched across PS5, Xbox, PC and Switch 2 days earlier.
Owners of the Super Deluxe Edition automatically get the full Bounty Pack Bundle and Vault Hunter Pack, while the Deluxe Edition includes the Bounty Pack Bundle. The packs are also sold individually.
