Apple Watch Series 12 Malaysia Price: RM1,799, In Stores 18 September

Apple Watch Series 12 goes on pre-order in Malaysia on Friday 11 September and reaches stores on Friday 18 September, from RM1,799, according to Apple Malaysia's press release dated 10 September 2026, which names Malaysia first in its list of first-wave countries. Apple introduced the Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 4 tonight, presented back to back in the keynote at about 1:36am Malaysian time according to Engadget's live blog from Cupertino, both built around a new Health Sensing System and a new S11 chip, priced from USD 399 and USD 799 in the US. Apple's press releases for the Series 12 and the Ultra 4 are the source for every product figure below; the headline changes are heart rate measured every five seconds, a daily readiness score, a ceramic case option for the Series 12, up to 50 hours of everyday battery on the Ultra 4, and Audio Intelligence features that show you the last 15 seconds of a conversation as text.

Malaysia is in Apple's first wave. Apple Malaysia's release lists "Malaysia, Australia, Canada, France, Germany, India, Japan, the UAE, the UK, the U.S., and more than 50 other countries and regions" as the markets that "can pre-order Apple Watch Series 12 tomorrow, with availability in stores beginning Friday, September 18". The release is dated 10 September 2026, so "tomorrow" is Friday 11 September; Apple Malaysia's store page puts the pre-order start at 9am on 11 September. What Apple announced

• Health Sensing System. Both watches get new optical and electrical heart sensors. Apple says the larger, power-efficient green LEDs let the watch measure heart rate every five seconds all day, and heart rate variability (HRV) is now measured up to 24 times more often, shown in a new section of the Heart Rate app as two figures: recovery HRV for daily stress and recovery, overall HRV for broader heart health. Apple calls it "the most accurate heart rate sensing in a wearable", citing its own study of over 1,000 participants against leading wearables; that is Apple's study and Apple's claim, and we have not tested it.
• Readiness. A single 0 to 10 score each day, built from recent activity, training load, vitals and sleep score, with one of four recommendations: Recover, Pace Yourself, Ready, or Go For It. It updates through the day and shows which factors are driving it. Apple says the scoring came from the Apple Heart and Movement Study.
• Health app, later this year. A redesigned Health app on iPhone adds an Insights tab and a Longevity tab with Health Age, which shows how certain metrics track against your actual age, plus movement evaluations for flexibility, strength and balance that Apple says use vision-based AI models on iPhone with heart rate data from the watch. Apple says it arrives later this year, starting in US English; a Malaysian date is not stated.
• Audio Intelligence, later this year in beta. Live Rewind: double-press the Digital Crown and the watch shows the previous 15 seconds of a conversation as text. Siri Recap: when switched on, Apple Intelligence writes a title and key points of a conversation into the new Siri app afterwards, a summary rather than a transcript. Apple's release puts both in beta later this year, starting in English, requiring an Apple Intelligence-enabled iPhone 16 or later (not the iPhone 16e), and subject to daily usage limits. Shazam music recognition appears in the Smart Stack. Apple says no audio recordings are created or stored, raw audio is processed inside a hardware-isolated Secure Exclave on the S11 and then deleted, each feature is opt-in, and Live Rewind plays a chime and shows an on-screen indicator so people nearby know it is on.
• Series 12 battery and cases. Up to 24 hours of everyday battery, now up to 10 hours in an outdoor workout (Apple says 25 percent more than the Series 11), and 15 minutes of charging adds up to 12 hours. Aluminium in dark bronze, black, light gold and space grey, now with Ceramic Shield 2, which Apple says is 60 percent tougher than the Ion-X glass on previous aluminium models; titanium in radiant gold and natural; and a new ceramic case in pearl white and night blue.
• Ultra 4 battery. Up to 50 hours of everyday use, up to 84 hours in Low Power Mode, 15 minutes of charging adds up to 18 hours. Extended Workout mode tracks up to 25 hours with full GPS and heart rate; a new Max Extended Workout mode runs, walks and hikes for up to 45 hours with a GPS reading every second. Natural and black titanium. Satellite communications continue from the Ultra 3.
• watchOS 27. Arrives Monday 14 September for Apple Watch Series 9 or later, SE 3 and Ultra 2 or later, with Apple Intelligence bringing Siri AI to the watch; Apple's release says Siri AI launches in beta in English only on that date, and Apple Intelligence itself does not list Malay among its languages.

What it means if you shoot long days

Neither release mentions a camera remote or any shooting feature, so for a crew the news is health and battery. Our interest is a 12-hour location day, most of it on your feet with a rig: the readiness score is built from activity, training load, vitals and sleep, its four answers are Recover, Pace Yourself, Ready, or Go For It, and it updates as the day goes on, so we will be reading it the morning after a shoot to see whether it agrees with our legs. The Ultra 4's 50 hours is the number for anyone who leaves the charger in the hotel, and the Series 12's 15-minute top-up for 12 hours is the one for the rest of us. Live Rewind is the feature we want to test on a noisy set, where a director's note gets lost under a generator.

Malaysia: price and date

Apple Watch Series 12 starts at RM1,799 in Malaysia, per Apple Malaysia's release, with pre-orders opening Friday 11 September (the release's "tomorrow", from its 10 September dateline) and stores stocking it from Friday 18 September. That Malaysian starting price is unchanged from last year: Apple Malaysia's release of 10 September 2025 listed the Apple Watch Series 11 from RM1,799, as we recorded in our Series 11 launch article. The release gives one Malaysian price; the titanium, ceramic and cellular configurations are priced on Apple Malaysia's store page.

Apple Watch Ultra 4: Apple Malaysia has not posted its local press release for the Ultra 4, so its Malaysian price and date are not yet confirmed by Apple Malaysia in a release, and we update this page when they are. Last year's reference is Apple Malaysia's release of 10 September 2025, which listed the Apple Watch Ultra 3 from RM3,699 (our Ultra 3 article). When we checked Apple Malaysia's Ultra store page at 2:40am on 10 September it showed the Ultra 4 from RM3,699 with pre-orders from 9am on 11 September and stores from 18 September; we treat that as provisional until the release is up.

watchOS 27 arrives on Monday 14 September for Apple Watch Series 9 or later, SE 3 and Ultra 2 or later, and Apple Malaysia's release adds that new subscribers may get three months of Apple Fitness+ and Apple Music with a Series 12, SE 3 or Ultra 4, subject to regional availability.
