For Malaysians who want the Galaxy S camera and software without paying top-tier flagship money, Samsung has a new option. The Samsung Galaxy S26 FE reaches Malaysia on 4 September, starting at RM2,899, and it is the first phone in the S26 family to ship with Samsung's latest One UI 9.

What the Samsung Galaxy S26 FE brings
The FE, short for Fan Edition, takes the parts of the Galaxy S line that people use most and puts them in a more affordable body. The biggest change this year is the camera. The S26 FE carries a triple rear setup: a 50MP main camera with optical stabilisation, a 12MP ultra-wide with a 123 degree field of view, and an 8MP telephoto that reaches 3x optical zoom and up to 30x digitally. The front camera moves to 12MP, which makes group selfies easier to fit in frame.
Two video features carry over from the pricier Galaxy models. The 6.7 inch FHD+ Dynamic AMOLED 2X screen runs at up to 120Hz and peaks at 1,900 nits, so it stays readable in Malaysian sun. The 4,900mAh battery supports 45W wired charging, which Samsung says reaches about 69 percent in 30 minutes (the 45W adapter is sold separately), plus 15W wireless charging.
Software is where the FE leads the family. It is the first S26 phone to launch on One UI 9, based on Android 17, with Galaxy AI features such as Now Brief, Now Nudge and Circle to Search. Samsung is promising seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates, the same long support window as its flagships, and a six-month trial of Google AI Pro with 5TB of cloud storage.

The Galaxy S26 FE goes on sale in Malaysia from 4 September 2026 in three colours: Blueberry, Graphite and Pistachio. Recommended retail prices are:

The FE line has always been Samsung's way of giving buyers most of the Galaxy S experience for less, and this year the gap is mostly in the chip and the build rather than the camera or the software.
