Marshall's living room speakers are getting a fourth-generation refresh, and the focus this time is on how they sound in a real room rather than on paper. The Marshall Acton IV and Stanmore IV reach Malaysia on 20 August 2026, priced from RM1,699, with a wider soundstage, cleaner bass and, unusually for this category, parts you can replace instead of throwing the whole speaker away.

What is new in the Marshall Acton IV and Stanmore IV

Both speakers move to upgraded tweeters and waveguides that spread sound more evenly across a room, so instruments sit further apart and are easier to follow. A redesigned bass port improves airflow for tighter, fuller low end, and the cables now sit underneath, letting you push either speaker flush against a wall without muddying the sound. A feature Marshall calls Dynamic Loudness keeps the tonal balance right whether you are listening quietly late at night or turning it up, and improved limiters keep things clean at higher volumes.

The main connectivity addition is Auracast, part of the newer Bluetooth LE Audio standard, which lets a single source broadcast to more than one compatible speaker at once. There are also RCA and AUX inputs on the top panel, so a turntable or an older device can join the setup without hunting for an adapter.

The Marshall look, kept on purpose

Visually these stay firmly in Marshall territory: PU leather wrapping, the salt and pepper fret, and a brass control panel with amp-style knobs for volume, bass and treble. The panel now includes an improved media jog and a power switch, plus a new customisable M-button that can jump to a saved EQ preset or start Spotify with one press. A companion Marshall app handles EQ presets and placement compensation, which tunes the output to where the speaker actually sits in the room.

"Since first launching in 2012, Marshall's home speakers have evolved while remaining true to our heritage," said Simona Berbec, Product Manager at Marshall Group.

Repairable, and the specs that matter

Both cabinets use FSC 100 percent certified wood, and Marshall says parts including the knobs, feet and grille can be replaced rather than forcing a full swap. The Acton IV is built with 13 percent recycled material by weight and the Stanmore IV with 16 percent. On sound, the Acton IV pairs a 4-inch woofer with two 0.75-inch tweeters, while the larger Stanmore IV steps up to a 5-inch woofer. Both run a 60W woofer amplifier with two 25W tweeter amplifiers, and both support the SBC, AAC, LC3 and LDAC Bluetooth codecs.

The takeaway

At RM1,699 for the Acton IV and RM2,399 for the Stanmore IV, these are not impulse buys, and they are not trying to be. The pitch is a permanent fixture for the living room that sounds fuller than before, works with a record player, and can be serviced instead of binned when a part wears out.
