vivo Malaysia has opened a nationwide photography challenge called "Shoot Beyond What You See", running from 3 to 31 August 2026 to mark the country's 69th Merdeka celebration. The activation invites Malaysians to photograph well-known local landmarks from a distance and share the results on social media.

The challenge is built around the vivo X300 Ultra paired with the vivo ZEISS Telephoto Extender Gen 2 Ultra. vivo says the accessory reaches focal lengths from 400mm to 8100mm, a range meant to let users frame far-off landmarks up close and turn a familiar viewpoint into a longer-range composition.

How to take part

Participants head to a location of their choice, photograph a recognisable Malaysian landmark from afar, then post the shot on social media with the hashtag #MyPerspectiveofMY and tag where it was taken. vivo points to compositions such as the PETRONAS Twin Towers and Genting Highlands captured in a single frame, or Merdeka 118 photographed from a distant vantage point. The brand frames the campaign around a "One Malaysia" theme for Merdeka Month, encouraging entrants to look past the usual angles and rediscover the country's landmarks.

SPayLater promotions at vivo Concept Stores

Alongside the challenge, vivo is running SPayLater promotions for shoppers. These include 6 months of 0% instalments, a RM100 rebate with a minimum spend of RM1,000, and a Coin Bonanza offering up to 10,000 coins. The offers are available at participating vivo Concept Stores in Penang, Selangor, Kuala Lumpur and Johor Bahru.
