If your camera roll is full of Malaysian sunsets and street corners, HUAWEI has a reason to put them to work. The company is running a nationwide photography contest called Pura Trip "Discover Truly Malaysia", and the top prize is one of its newest flagship phones. Entries are open now and close on 16 August 2026, so there is still time to join.

What the Pura Trip campaign is
Pura Trip is a travel-photography campaign HUAWEI is running with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture Malaysia (MOTAC) and Tourism Malaysia. The idea is simple: explore local destinations, capture your favourite moments on a HUAWEI smartphone, including the latest HUAWEI Pura 90s Series, and share the stories that make Malaysia worth photographing. The campaign period runs from 24 July to 16 August 2026.
How to enter
Entering is done through Instagram. Post your travel photo with the hashtags #PuraTripMY, #HUAWEIXMAGEMY2026 and #HUAWEIXMAGE, tag and follow @huaweimobilemy, and make sure your account is set to public so the judges can see your work. You can shoot with any HUAWEI phone, though the campaign is built around the imaging features of the Pura 90s Series.
The prizes
The winner of the Pura Trip campaign walks away with a HUAWEI Pura 90s Pro Max. Selected entries are also put forward for the HUAWEI XMAGE Awards 2026 Malaysia, where the Grand Prize winner receives a HUAWEI Mate X7. In short, a strong holiday snap could turn into a new foldable.
A workshop to warm up
To get entrants started, HUAWEI ran a "Discover Truly Malaysia" workshop at its Experience Store at The Exchange TRX on 25 July. The session walked photography enthusiasts through composition tips, an outdoor shooting session and creative sticker printing, all while showing off what the Pura 90s Series can do.
The takeaway
Brand photo contests come and go, but this one pairs a clear local hook with real prizes and an official tourism tie-in. If you already carry a HUAWEI phone and enjoy shooting around the country, there is little to lose by tagging a few of your best frames before the middle of August.
