It's finally announced. The "not-so-rumoured" Galaxy S25 Edge is getting a definite launch date on 13 May 2025, as shared by Samsung Singapore. You can catch the reveal here on Samsung Singapore's YouTube at 8AM then.

This Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge had been relentlessly marketed with its "Beyond Slim" slogan. Noting Samsung's product trends and legacy, we can expect a a new benchmark in smartphone design that does not sacrifice ultimate performance.

Officially unveiled during the Galaxy Unpacked event in early 2025, this device combines an ultra-slim profile with flagship-level specifications, catering to users who seek both aesthetics and power in their mobile devices.

What we know so far

The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge has a prototype revealed at the last Unpacked event held in San Jose, California. From then and this new announcement, here are the current "leaked" specification about the phone.

  • Dimensions: At just 5.85mm thick and weighing 163 grams, the Galaxy S25 Edge is Samsung's slimmest Galaxy S series device to date.
  • Materials: The device features a titanium frame and utilizes Corning® Gorilla® Glass Ceramic 2 on the front.
  • Display: Equipped with a 6.7-inch QHD+ AMOLED display (3120 x 1440), it supports a 120Hz adaptive refresh rate
  • Camera: It was revealed on the prototype that there were two rear camera lenses. International media has speculated between 50MP lenses and 200MP sensors.
  • Processor: Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset
  • RAM and Storage: Comes with 12GB of RAM and offers storage options of 256GB or 512GB
  • Operating System:Device should run on Android 15 with Samsung's One UI 7
  • Water and Dust Resistance: IP68 rating expected

One disappointing detail to hear is that the Galaxy S25 Edge might come with a 3,900mAh battery, supporting 25W wired charging. This is very low among today's standard phones whereby even budget phones like Redmi A5, POCO C71 and vivo Y04 now comes with 5,000mAh battery.

Stay tuned for more information on Malaysian release, especially since regional Samsung Singapore is hosting the launch, we can expect the pre-order/sales date to follow closely behind.
