What Is Interpreter?

One of the most useful Galaxy AI features is Interpreter, which allows you to translate foreign languages into your own language in real-time. Put like that, it doesn’t sound very impressive, but remember the Galaxy Z Flip6’s unique form factor?

On the Galaxy Z Flip6, Interpreter has a special mode called the Dual Screen Mode. It provides face-to-face interpretation through the FlexWindow, displaying translations on both screens so you and your buddy can both get translations.

Essentially, it’s like having a personal translator in your pocket, ready to provide live translations of spoken conversations!

Now, let’s say you’re having a more in-depth conversation, like negotiating a deal at a local market or having a lengthy conversation with a local while travelling abroad. Sure, you can use regular translation and interpretation apps for this, but passing your phone to a stranger is definitely not the best idea, especially if you’re in a foreign land.

Thankfully, on the Galaxy Z Flip6 (and the Galaxy Z Fold6 as well), Interpreter’s Dual Screen Mode can step in to make sure your intralingual journey is seamless.

  • Step 1: Open the Interpreter app and activate Dual Screen Mode.
  • Step 2: Set your Galaxy Z Flip6 in Flex Mode (halfway open, like a mini laptop).
  • Step 3: Choose your language, then place the phone so each person can see one of the screens.
  • Step 4: Start talking, and the translations will appear simultaneously on both the Flex Window and Main screens.

In Dual Screen Mode, both you and the person you’re speaking to can read the translations directly. There’s no need to pass your phone to a stranger or make things awkward by sharing the screen—it’s all right there in front of you, keeping the conversation natural and uninterrupted.

And that’s the Dual Screen Mode—but it’s not all. Powered by Galaxy AI, the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip6 also makes things even easier with Interpreter: it’s Listening Mode!

Interpreter on Listening Mode allows you to have real-time translation right in your ear, like you’re in one of those fancy UN meetings and you’re a representative. Way to make one feel important, isn’t it?

  • Step 1: Pair your Galaxy Z Flip6 with the Samsung Buds3 Pro
  • Step 2: Open the Interpreter app and select Listening Mode.
  • Step 3: Pick your languages.
  • Step 4: Let the speaker talk, and watch as the translation appears on your screen in real time.

In Listening Mode, you don’t have to interact—just listen and read. It’s especially useful when you need to focus on understanding rather than contributing to the conversation. Most importantly, it works offline, too, so you don’t have to worry about data or internet connections to communicate while you’re out and about!

With the Galaxy Z Flip6’s Interpreter feature, Samsung has taken a big step towards making the world a little smaller and a lot more connected. Whether you’re exploring new cultures, learning new things, or just trying to make your way around a foreign country, this tool makes communication a breeze.

So next time you’re out and about, give Interpreter a try—you might just find that language barriers aren’t so hard to break after all!
