Apple has just announced the launch of Apple Maps on the web in public beta, making it directly accessible from any web browser. This launch ensures that both Mac and Windows users can access Apple Maps without having to use the dedicated app.

What’s New with Apple Maps on the Web?

With the public beta release, you can now:

  • Get Directions: Find driving and walking routes to their destinations.
  • Discover Places: Access detailed information about various locations, including photos, hours of operation, ratings, and reviews.
  • Take Actions: Order food and perform other actions directly from the Maps place card.
  • Explore Curated Guides: Discover recommended places to eat, shop, and visit in cities around the world.

Additional features like Look Around, which provides immersive street-level imagery, will be added in the coming months.

Developers using MapKit JS can now link their apps and websites to Maps on the web. This integration allows users to get driving directions, see detailed place information, and much more directly through the browser interface.

Apple Maps on the Web is only available in English (sorry, non-English users) is compatible with Safari on Mac and iPad, Edge on Windows, and Chrome on all computers.

Apple plans to expand support for additional languages, browsers, and platforms over time, with availability varying by region.
