Nothing Announces Community Edition Project: Co-Creating the Future of Phone (2a)

Now you can design your own Nothing phone!

Nothing has announced the Community Edition Project, inviting enthusiasts to co-create a bespoke variant of Phone (2a), marking a pioneering move in collaborative product development.

Embracing its community-centric ethos, Nothing empowers its followers to shape the next iteration of Phone (2a) through a four-stage co-creation journey spanning hardware, wallpapers, packaging, and marketing creatives.

Stage 1 - March: Hardware Design
Unleash your creativity by putting a personal spin on Phone (2a)'s iconic hardware. Winners collaborate directly with Nothing's London industrial design team to bring their vision to life. Submissions open to all on March 26, 2024.

Stage 2 - May: Wallpaper Design
Craft a series of wallpapers seamlessly integrating with the chosen hardware design. The winning collection ships pre-installed on Phone (2a) Community Edition.

Stage 3 - June: Packaging Design
Reimagine the unboxing experience with a unique packaging design that complements the hardware and wallpaper concepts from previous stages.

Stage 4 - July: Marketing Campaign
Pitch creative proposals for the marketing of Phone (2a) Community Edition. Community members collaborate with Nothing's Brand & Creative team to develop a captivating visual identity and promotional assets.

Participants can engage in any category aligned with their skills. Upon submission opening, users upload images, videos, and supporting media to showcase their ideas. Nothing provides detailed briefs, rules, and guidelines for each stage to facilitate successful entries.

Following the submission period, the Nothing community will vote for their favourite entries, while an internal panel of experts from Nothing selects winners for each category. The four winners will join the Nothing Team in London to launch Phone (2a) Community Edition, showcasing their winning ideas.
