iQOO has announced the iQOO 12, its flagship smartphone that is designed to give users an exceptional mobile gaming experience. Inspired by the BMW M Motorsport, the iQOO 12 comes equipped with Qualcomm’s latest high-performance Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 processor with the brand’s propriety Supercomputing Chip Q1.
Clear and Comfortable Display
Featuring a high-definition 144Hz AMOLED display, the iQOO 12 comes with a 6.78-inch display featuring 1.5K resolution, 452 PPI pixel density, and HDR10+ support. With 3000 nits of local peak brightness and 2160Hz PWM dimming and low blue light eye protection, the viewing experience is made even more comfortable for long periods of gaming.
Additionally, the LTPO AMOLED display can dynamically switch between high and low refresh rates, lowering power consumption by reducing refresh rates when a static image is displayed, while allowing refresh rates to be pushed to the maximum to provide the ultimate viewing experience when watching movies or playing games.
First Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Smartphone in Malaysia
The iQOO 12 is one of the first smartphones in Malaysia to equip the industry-leading Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform. Paired with the Supercomputing Chip Q1 that improves in-game performance while providing fast memory and lightning-quick flash storage.
The Snapdragon® 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform by Qualcomm introduces a balanced octa-core design, comprising a prime Cortex-X4 core, five Cortex-A720 performance cores, and two Cortex-A520 efficiency cores. Besides that, the Adreno 750 GPU ensures dominant gaming, while 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB UFS4.0 flash storage provide seamless app loading and ample space for the latest mobile games.
The Supercomputing Chip Q1, seen for the first time on the iQOO 12, is a customised display chip that offers Game Super Resolution, Game Super Frame Rate and Game Display Enhancement. These features can improve image contrast and clarity, enhance frame rates (up to 144 fps), and overlay General Filters that can reconstruct images to provide sharper and clearer details.
Additionally, Game Super Touch Control gives gamers better accuracy and touch response, preventing unwanted slips and accidental edge touching, while improving accuracy when perspiration becomes an issue.
iQOO 12 is powered by a 5000 mAh Pro-Performance Graphite Battery that supports 120W FlashCharge. The battery is also 9% larger in capacity compared to the previous generation without adding to the bulkiness. Power saving features include Battery Saver Mode and 0% Battery Instant Startup.
Porthole Triple Cameras
The iQOO 12 boasts a triple rear camera system with a Porthole Design, inspired by a sense of exploration. It features a powerful 50MP Astrography Camera with VCS2.0 biomimetic spectral technology for superior colour reproduction, the camera excels in low light. Utilising four-in-one pixel binning technology for an effective pixel size of 2.4µm, it offers impressive performance.
Video recording includes 8K@30 FPS, 4K@30/60 FPS, and 720p,1080p video at up to 240 FPS for stunning slow-motion shots, with OIS and EIS stabilisation support for sharp photography. The setup also includes a Periscope Telephoto Camera and Wide-Angle Camera for a versatile imaging experience.
