OPPO is back with its new foldable phone, the Find N3 Flip. Let's dive right into our first impressions of this enticing device.
Design
Flipping into the design, it's evident that we're witnessing the peak of flip phones. While every generation introduces a more sophisticated hinge, to most of us, it just seems to be increasingly fancier words for the same mechanism. In this case, the OPPO Find N3 Flip sports a Flexion Hinge with aircraft-grade steel with a waterdrop design.
Really, the most important thing you need to know about the hinge is that the phone flips smoothly without any grinding, and it snaps open satisfyingly towards the end. Trying to flip it with one hand might take a moment of fumbling, but that's a flip phone trait for you.
On the exterior, the OPPO Find N3 Flip exudes elegance with its curved glass front and back, complemented by a metallic side. A distinctive wavy line design adorns the hinge, adding a touch of uniqueness.
Besides that, it also features a slider for switching between silent or vibrate modes, possibly a feature inspired by OnePlus—a feature I've always admired and wished other brands would adopt.
Display
The cover screen, albeit with limited in-app compatibility, is visually appealing. Google apps can be displayed, but choices remain restricted. This compact screen, however, provides space for substantial camera sensors at the front—a boon for selfie enthusiasts.
Next, on the main display—spanning 6.8 inches, it's vibrant and showcases OPPO's signature punchy colours. As an AMOLED screen, the black levels are deep, and viewing angles are top-notch. Yes, the crease exists, but it's like the punch-hole situation—initial scepticism that turns into acceptance. While you can feel the crease, it fades into obscurity when you're engrossed in content.
Camera
Now, the awaited section—cameras. The Find N3 Flip packs a 50MP main camera, a 48MP ultra-wide, and a 32MP telephoto lens.
