One of the most anticipated devices for this year has to be the latest iPhone 15 series. Prior to this, Apple used their signature lightning cables as their chargers, but ever since the EU made it mandatory for universal Type-C ports on all devices before 2025, Apple has been awkwardly wedged in between compliance and individualism—in which the latter seems to be winning, according to various online rumours.
Previously, we heard that the upcoming iPhone 15 is also rumoured to have capacitive touch buttons. As we draw closer to September when most of Apple's new iPhones are typically announced, we're getting more and more of these rumours: one of these being the Type-C charging port that should be coming to the iPhone 15 series.
The most recent speculated date for when the iPhone 15 will be released appears to be September 13th, which is just a few weeks from now. Apparently, the launch event will be held in Cupertino. Apart from the buttons and charging port, it's also said that the design of the latest phone will now feature curved edges instead of the flat sides they have been sporting since the iPhone 12 series.
It’s also most likely that the new phones will get a periscope lens for an improved optical zoom. Additionally, the Pro series will be powered by the latest A17 Bionic mobile platform, while the others will have the older A16 Bionic.
Apple’s iPhone 15 series already has many significant features that will make it stand out from its predecessors and competition as well. This is especially since it's making a huge leap to Type-C charging to make it a more convenient device for most people. The official release date has yet to be announced by Apple, but by this rumour, there could be a possibility that we get to see it on September 13th. Until then, we will just have to wait to find out more about the new series.
