OPPO Find N2 Flip Review

The OPPO Find N2 Flip's Flexion Hinge Set A Precedence — A Very Good One

This is the one flip phone to rule them all.

The new OPPO Find N2 Flip was announced globally just earlier this month, and if you’ve read our reviews on it, you’d know that this flip phone, while not the first of its kind, has truly set the benchmark of future foldable smartphones to come. And the biggest reason for this is the “shallowest hinge on a flip phone to date” — all made possible by OPPO’s Flexion Hinge.

Flip phones of the present day — and the past, for that matter — tend to come with bulky hinges that cause an unsightly crease on the inside screen of the phone. Moreover, because of how the hinges are engineered, there’s always a gap when the phone is folded, which adds the risk of dust and foreign objects slipping in between the screens and damaging them.

With OPPO’s new generation Flexion Hinge, though, the OPPO Find N2 Flip resolves all of these hinge-related pain points. From being able to fold down flat to a near-unnoticeable crease, it definitely sets the stage for foldable smartphones moving forward.

What Matters Most Is On the Inside

In short, the new Flexion Hinge can be smaller, slimmer, and less noticeable because it has fewer parts with a cleaner design.

Made with flexible and durable materials that are also lightweight, the foldable phone can hold its position at various angles while maintaining the perfect balance of flex so that you can also whip it open with just a flick of your wrist.

The “waterdrop fold”, as the brand calls it, ensures a bigger fold radius so that the main screen of the OPPO Find N2 Flip doesn’t crease as much and folds down into a perfect, gapless square. It also allows the phone to have lesser screen deformation compared to a traditional U-shaped hinge.

OPPO also made the Flexion hinge with aeronautical high-strength steel, so it’s also extremely durable on top of all these other features!

But It’s Not Just The Decrease

Having a smaller hinge means that the Find N2 Flip gets to have bigger everything else, and it does. The Cover Screen is the biggest of its kind, at 3.26”, and it also gets a best-in-class battery pack that offers a capacity of 4300mAh.

The 3.26” Cover Screen was definitely met with great success, and it’s also our favourite feature on the Find N2 Flip. With a bigger screen, you’ll be able to do so much more than just check notifications: you can read the entire message, reply to them, and even take selfies that you can actually see your face in, all without having to unflip the phone.

And the benefits of a larger battery capacity just go without saying. Who wouldn’t want a phone that can keep up with them on the daily without having to recharge all the time? The OPPO Find N2 Flip features a two-cell battery with a combined capacity of 4300mAh, which is significantly larger than most clamshell foldable phones on the market right now. Plus, it also features 44W SUPERVOOC fast charging for faster juice ups!

The OPPO Find N2 Flip is available for preorders in Malaysia at RM3,999, with an ETA of 20 Mar onwards according to the website. OPPO will also be offering a pair of free OPPO Enco Air3, a free PU case, and 1-year free extended warranty for every pre-order.
