nubia has officially unveiled the brand-new REDMAGIC 8 Pro. Dubbed the “King of Performance”, it is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, Red Core 2 with LPDDR5 x, and UFS 4.0. Priced starting from RM3,699, the REDMAGIC 8 Pro will be available starting 25 February 2023.

nubia’s latest REDMAGIC 8 Pro comes with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor, providing a speed of 3.2 GHz alongside a 42% improvement in GPU performance, and a 37% increase in CPU power efficiency. Moreover, there is a Red Core 2 gaming chip that is installed in the phone, which allows you to make adjustments to your gaming performance in real-time such as shoulder triggers, touch, sound effects, and vibrations.
Both the cache and the display handle the image simultaneously by buffering from the Magic GPU. This is part of the “cube performance optimizer” (CPO) and it helps with gaming as it reduces power usage while adjusting in-game frame rates for a steady gaming experience.
The REDMAGIC 8 Pro uses ICE 11.0, a ten-layer cooling system that produces a speed of 20,000 rpm with its built-in turbofan. As a result, this will reduce the temperature by 2.7℃ and the position of the air duct space has been changed to produce more airflow by 35%.
With a massive 6000 mAh dual-cell battery, the REDMAGIC 8 Pro boasts a 20% higher energy efficiency ratio that can last for longer periods. It also supports 65W fast charging, allowing it to fully charge in less than 43 minutes.
The REDMAGIC studio, which comes preinstalled on the phone, allows projection to a bigger screen at a refresh rate of 120Hz with low latency, providing a smooth and immersive gaming experience. You'll be able to connect the REDMAGIC 8 Pro to a TV using HDMI or USB, and to an external monitor using a USB Type-C connection.
The REDMAGIC 8 Pro is also the first gaming smartphone to use an under-display 6.8-inch AMOLED camera with an OLED full screen. By utilising the Samsung GN5 camera as its primary camera, it produces detailed pictures and crisp videos.
Plus, the new REDMAGIC OS 6.0 also makes use of nubia’s XR Labs, which enables you to view Mora, the first virtual assistant in a gaming smartphone, in augmented reality and turn her into a 2D version with the touch of your fingertips.
There are two colours available for the REDMAGIC 8 Pro: Matte and Void. Evoking a sense of space and depth, the Void has a mecha design with its artistic motifs and tough-looking lines. Meanwhile, with its high-gloss glass, the Matte interlaces the beauty found between the shades of light and shadow.
