The Samsung Galaxy Watch5 could possibly be the best Samsung watch for now. Last year, the Samsung Galaxy Watch 4 became the first smartwatch to run Wear OS 3, a unified platform that integrates a selection of Google programs with the familiar Samsung apps.
So, how about the newest additions to the Galaxy Watch lineup? Some key upgrades include a minor redesign, longer-lasting battery life, and a new skin-temperature sensor (which we’re very excited about).
Samsung Galaxy Watch5 Skin Temperature Sensor
The most impressive new internal Galaxy Watch5 feature is the addition of a temperature analysis sensor. This skin temperature sensor or thermometer helps to read the wearer’s skin temperature based on new infrared technology.
Just to make things clear, this sensor is not the same as Samsung’s unique BioActive sensor, which debuted last year. The BioActive sensor reads heart rate, SpO2, body composition, and even stress levels via a combination of its Bioelectrical Impedance Analysis and the Optical Heart Rate Sensor.
Additionally, Samsung hasn’t yet clarified what we can use skin-temperature readings for. Stay tuned for more details!
