Is 27.0-inch good for a monitor?

In our opinion, a 27.0-inch monitor is a perfect display size for both work and entertainment. Although bigger is better, a 27.0-inch screen size simply hits the sweet spot between functionality and space.

For work:

  • A 27.0-inch monitor that supports up to 1080p resolution should suffice for any basic office work such as word processing, web browsing and data entry.
  • This size is ideal on your work desk, taking up only a small portion of the limited space.
  • You can easily get a comfortable working distance from the screen with a normal seating position.
  • With that, you’re likely to maintain a good ergonomic posture and minimising fatigue in your eyes.

For gaming:

  • A 27.0-inch monitor would generally provide the best gaming experience at a normal viewing distance and a 1440p resolution.
  • This screen size is perfectly in between, not too big for gaming and far from being too large.
  • 1080p is fine but you’ll get a better visual experience with 1440p on a 27.0-inch monitor.
  • You could run your games at native resolution without any issue with UI and system navigation.
