Apple's Creator Studio subscription costs RM29.90 a month or RM299 a year on the Malaysian App Store, and its November update adds MotionVFX effects to Final Cut Pro and a drum Stem Splitter to Logic Pro at no extra charge. Buying the six Mac pro apps it covers outright still costs RM3,119.40, though the subscription also adds the iPad versions of Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro and Pixelmator Pro.
Quick facts
- Price in Malaysia: RM29.90 a month or RM299 a year, per the in-app listings on the Malaysian App Store.
- Free time: a one-month trial, or three months with a new Mac or qualifying iPad (Apple Support Malaysia).
- What is new: MotionVFX inside Final Cut Pro, Stem Splitter for drums in Logic Pro, Generate Fill in Pixelmator Pro.
- Timing: Apple says "this November"; Final Cut Pro on the Malaysian store still read version 12.4 when we checked on 8 November 2026.

Rent or own: the RM3,119 sum
We read every price on the Malaysian App Store on 8 November. Final Cut Pro is RM1,299.90 and Logic Pro is RM999.90. Pixelmator Pro, Motion and Compressor are RM229.90 each, and MainStage is RM129.90. Together that is RM3,119.40, or a little over ten years of the annual plan at today's price. That is not a like-for-like swap: the one-time purchases are Mac apps only, while the subscription also covers the iPad versions of Final Cut Pro, Logic Pro and Pixelmator Pro, plus premium content in Keynote, Pages, Numbers and Freeform.

Paying monthly for twelve months comes to RM358.80, so the annual plan saves RM59.80. Subscription prices can change at renewal, while a one-time purchase is paid once, which matters if you only edit video on a Mac and never touch music or images. Someone who only needs Final Cut Pro pays about the same as 4.3 years of the plan (RM1,299.90 against RM299 a year), at today's prices.
What the update adds for video editors
Final Cut Pro gains MotionVFX titles and effects, a Content Hub of video assets, round-trips to Pixelmator Pro, more keyframe easing and 23 new transcription languages. Logic Pro 13.0, already on the Malaysian store this week, brings the drum Stem Splitter and a redesigned Browser. Keynote, Pages and Numbers get AI assistants in beta.

The bundle's App Store listing names seven languages, and Malay is not one of them. For other editing options, see our earlier stories on Instagram's Edits and DaVinci Resolve.
If your footage comes from a phone, shots planned with the edit in mind are what our Pocket Cinematic lessons walk through, before any of these apps are opened.
