Sony's New Signature Walkman Lands in Singapore at S$6,999 in November

Sony has announced three new premium Walkman digital music players, the NW-WM1ZM3, the NW-WM1AM3 and the NW-ZX900, aimed squarely at audiophiles who still want a dedicated device for listening rather than a phone. The three arrive in Singapore from November 2026, with suggested retail prices of S$6,999, S$3,599 and S$2,399. No Malaysian pricing or availability has been announced yet.

The launch refreshes the top of Sony's portable audio range at once, from a gold Signature Series flagship down to a more approachable model that borrows much of the same engineering.

Inside the new WM1 Signature Series

The NW-WM1ZM3 and NW-WM1AM3 sit at the top of the line. Sony says both bring together its most advanced audio technologies, including key internal components made from oxygen-free copper, a material chosen for cleaner electrical conduction and, Sony argues, a more faithful sound. The company frames the WM1 Series as built to convey the artist's original intent, holding detail, scale and dynamics steady even at higher volumes.

The gold NW-WM1ZM3 is the Signature flagship at S$6,999. The black NW-WM1AM3 carries much of the same design at S$3,599, roughly half the price.

Where the NW-ZX900 fits

The NW-ZX900 is the entry point into the new range at S$2,399. Sony says it inherits many of the premium audio components used in the flagship, in a slimmer body, which makes it the model most likely to tempt listeners stepping up from a phone or a mid-range player for the first time.

Pricing, availability and the pre-order deal

All three go on sale in Singapore from November 2026. Sony is running a pre-order promotion while stocks last: S$1,000 off the NW-WM1ZM3, S$400 off the NW-WM1AM3 and S$200 off the NW-ZX900, each bundled with a free pair of IER-M500 in-ear monitors worth S$139. All three are sold through the Sony Store online and authorised dealers in Singapore.

Sony has stayed busy across audio this year. It recently put spatial audio into a clip-on phone microphone with the ECM-AX10, and the premium end of personal audio keeps drawing new entrants, with Nothing opening pre-orders for its Headphone (1) Pro in Malaysia. We will update this story if Sony confirms Malaysian pricing for the new Walkman players.
