Google has introduced the Fitbit Edge, its next-generation fitness tracker, priced at S$249 and going on sale in Singapore on 27 October 2026. It adds an on-wrist ECG app, blood pressure and insulin resistance trends, and a replaceable battery that makes it the first Fitbit you can repair. Google has not announced a Malaysian release date or price.

What the Fitbit Edge tracks

The Edge carries what Google calls its largest and brightest tracker display yet, in a slim recycled aluminium body with four colour options and interchangeable bands. It offers real-time workout guidance across more than 50 exercise modes, with on-wrist metrics such as heart rate zones, pace and split times, and built-in GPS that tracks routes and distance without a phone.

Automatic activity tracking recognises up to 100 types of workout, including running, cycling and walking, even when the wearer forgets to start a session. Deeper health readings come from continuous heart rate monitoring, an on-wrist ECG app, sleep stage analysis and skin temperature tracking.

The tracker also brings over the Health Guardian tools Google first put on the Pixel Watch: it follows subtle changes over time, including blood pressure and insulin resistance trends, and sends high and low heart rate alerts. Eligible Google Health Premium users who meet monthly wear requirements can receive reports to bring to a doctor.

A seven-day battery, and the first repairable Fitbit

Battery life runs up to seven days, and fast charging restores a full day of use in five minutes. On the wrist there is Google Maps navigation and music controls. The bigger change is under the casing: the Edge is Google's first repairable fitness tracker, built with an internal modular architecture and a replaceable battery meant to extend the life of the device.

Price, availability and the Malaysia question

The Fitbit Edge retails at S$249 with three months of Google Health Premium included. Singapore pre-orders are open at Metapod, Best Denki, Shopee and Lazada, and the tracker goes on sale on 27 October 2026, in stores and online through Metapod, Best Denki, FairPrice and Harvey Norman, and online via Shopee and Lazada.

Alongside the hardware, Google is rolling out more than 55 updates and fixes to the Google Health app and Google Health Coach, covering more personalised insights, improved activity detection and deeper links with health and wellness apps.

For Malaysia, there is no local date to report yet. Google has confirmed the Edge only for Singapore so far, with no Malaysian price or availability announced. Fitbit hardware has historically reached Malaysian buyers through grey-market importers and cross-border online listings rather than an official local launch, so the S$249 figure is the clearest price reference for now.
