Samsung Malaysia has launched the Galaxy A08, an entry-level smartphone that goes on sale at RM899 in Green, Dark Blue and Silver. The company unveiled the phone in Kuala Lumpur on 25 September 2026, built around everyday tasks such as streaming, taking photos and staying connected.

A 6,000mAh battery and Helio G99+ chip
The headline change is battery capacity. The Galaxy A08 carries a 6,000mAh battery that Samsung says is designed for longer stretches of video, social media and messaging between charges. It runs on a Helio G99+ processor paired with upgraded LPDDR5 memory, and a RAM Plus option can be switched on for extra memory or switched off to free up storage for photos and videos.
Cameras and AI features
On the back sits a 50MP autofocus main camera alongside a 2MP depth sensor, with an 8MP camera on the front for selfies and video calls. The phone also brings several of Samsung's software tools to the entry segment. Circle to Search with Google lets you circle or tap anything on screen to look it up without leaving the app, and a new Find the Look feature can search for a full outfit or identify music playing nearby.
The A08 adds multiple AI agents that move between supported Galaxy apps, Google apps and selected third-party apps. Through a voice command or a long press, you can ask Gemini or Perplexity to open supported apps and carry out tasks.
Durability and long update support
The Galaxy A08 has IP64-rated protection against dust and water splashes. Samsung is promising up to six generations of operating system upgrades and six years of security updates, a long support window for a phone at this price. Knox Vault provides hardware-based storage for sensitive data such as PINs and biometric information.

The Galaxy A08 is priced at RM899 and comes in Green, Dark Blue and Silver.
