If you have ever cracked a laptop screen a month after buying it, the repair bill usually stings more than the accident itself. ASUS Malaysia is trying to take that worry off the table for its laptop buyers.

On 28 July 2026 the company set out an upgraded ASUS Malaysia laptop warranty and service package it calls its No.1 Quality and Service commitment. The part that matters most to buyers: every ASUS or ROG laptop launched after 28 July now ships with two years of local accidental damage protection on top of the existing two-year international warranty, along with a wider repair network and free maintenance perks on its pricier models.

Two years of accidental-damage warranty cover

The new piece is the ASUS Perfect Warranty, a local accidental damage protection plan that runs for two years alongside the standard two-year international warranty. It covers the everyday mishaps that a normal warranty does not: drops, liquid spills and electrical surges. ASUS says it is included with every ASUS and ROG laptop launched after 28 July, so it is built into the price rather than sold as a separate add-on.

34 durability tests before it ships

ASUS is also pointing to how its laptops are put through their paces before they reach shelves. Each model goes through up to 34 durability tests meant to mimic real-world wear. The company lists a few of them:

  • Drop test: the laptop should survive desk-height falls of around 100cm without major structural damage.
  • Temperature test: checked at -33°C and 55°C, roughly a car left in the Malaysian sun at one end and sub-zero conditions at the other.
  • Water spill test: the keyboard is designed to channel accidental spills away from the internal circuitry.
  • Pressure test: the chassis is tested against heavy weight, such as being stepped on while left on the floor.
  • Vibration test: run across 5 to 500Hz on three axes to simulate travel on rough roads.

More places to get it fixed

When something does go wrong, ASUS says it now has over 1000 service points across Malaysia, part of a network spanning more than 90 countries. You can drop a laptop at an authorised ASUS Service Center or a Pos Malaysia branch, or use the Pick-up and Return service, where a courier collects the machine from your door and returns it once the repair is done.

Free maintenance on the higher-end lines

Owners of new ProArt, Zenbook, Vivobook S and ROG laptops launched after 28 July also get a program called ProCare. It bundles two things: an Unlimited 360 Cleaning and Maintenance service, a 10-step tune-up that includes internal cleaning, reapplying thermal paste, checking the cooling system and assessing battery health, and a Priority Service lane that skips the queue at authorised service centres.

"A laptop's value isn't just measured by its performance at purchase, but by its ability to continue to deliver that performance over time," said Li Huaipin, Business Development Manager of ASUS Malaysia.

What it means for buyers

Warranty terms rarely make anyone's shortlist when picking a laptop, but they decide how much a mishap costs a year into ownership. For Malaysians weighing an ASUS machine, the practical takeaway is that accidental damage is now covered for two years, repairs can be arranged without leaving home, and the higher-end lines come with maintenance built in. It is worth confirming the exact coverage and eligible models with the retailer at purchase, since the accidental protection and ProCare apply to laptops launched after 28 July.
