HONOR Magic V6 Wins Two Top Awards at MWC Shanghai

The foldable took Best Smartphone in Asia and Disruptive Device Innovation, the first product to win both.

If you have been eyeing a foldable, HONOR just handed you a fresh reason to look at the Magic V6. At the Global Mobile Awards Asia during Mobile World Congress Shanghai 2026, the company’s flagship foldable walked away with two of the evening’s biggest device honours, beating a field that included the iPhone 17 Pro.

Two awards, one first

On 24 June 2026, the HONOR Magic V6 was named Best Smartphone in Asia and also took the Disruptive Device Innovation award at the GLOMO Awards Asia. HONOR says it is the first product in the history of the awards to claim both device titles in the same year. The double win follows an earlier nod: in March, HONOR collected the Best Disruptive Device Innovation prize at GLOMO during MWC Barcelona 2026 for commercialising its silicon-carbon battery technology.

Why the Magic V6 stands out

The headline feature is power. The Magic V6 packs a 6,660mAh HONOR Silicon-carbon Battery, which the company describes as the largest capacity yet fitted into a foldable phone. With roughly 25 percent silicon content and an energy density of 921Wh/L, the design fits more capacity into the same slim body, tackling the trade-off foldable buyers know well: a thin phone that still lasts the day.

Battery aside, HONOR points to an ultra-slim profile, flagship-grade durability, and connectivity that works across Apple’s ecosystem. The software leans on AI agents and large-screen multitasking, positioning the wider inner display as a workspace rather than just a bigger screen for video. Those are exactly the areas where foldables have historically asked buyers to compromise.

What it means for Malaysian buyers

Foldables have long carried two knocks: that they are delicate, and that the folding screen eats into battery life. An award aimed squarely at battery innovation, on a phone this thin, is HONOR’s way of arguing those compromises are getting smaller. For Malaysian shoppers comparing premium foldables, the recognition puts the Magic V6 in direct conversation with the established names at the top of the market.

HONOR has not tied Malaysian pricing or availability to this announcement. We will update this story when local details are confirmed.

Awards do not tell you how a phone feels in the hand, but two device titles in one night, against strong competition, are a clear signal that HONOR’s foldable belongs on the shortlist.
