Proton e.MAS Roadshow Comes to Kuantan and Subang Jaya

Malaysia's national EV brand brings test drives and EV experiences to East Coast Mall and Sunway Pyramid this June and July.

If you have been curious about life with an electric vehicle but wanted to see one up close first, the Proton e.MAS roadshow is heading to two more Malaysian malls over the coming weeks. The national carmaker's electric arm is parking its cars in Kuantan and the Klang Valley, where anyone can walk in, look around and book a test drive.

PRO-NET, the wholly owned PROTON subsidiary that runs the e.MAS brand, has confirmed that its nationwide "Electrify Your Life" roadshow continues at East Coast Mall in Kuantan from 24 to 28 June 2026, then moves to Sunway Pyramid in Subang Jaya from 1 to 5 July 2026. Both stops sit inside the malls, so they are easy to fold into a normal weekend outing.

What happens at the roadshow

The e.MAS roadshow is set up as an experience rather than a static display. The main draw is the test drive, where visitors can get behind the wheel of the Proton e.MAS 7, the company's fully electric SUV, and judge its acceleration, refinement and cabin tech for themselves. At earlier stops in the same campaign, PRO-NET paired the drives with lifestyle zones that walk people through EV charging, running costs and the car's onboard features in plain language.

Those earlier stops also ran sharing sessions with local motoring personalities, who talked through the day-to-day realities of EV ownership and answered the questions most first-time buyers have. For shoppers who have only read about electric cars, it is a relaxed way to clear up the usual doubts before spending anything. Charging access and resale value tend to be the biggest worries for new buyers, and hearing from people who drive these cars every day often settles them faster than any spec sheet.

Why the Proton e.MAS push matters

The e.MAS 7 is Proton's first electric vehicle and the brand's way into a segment that imported names have largely owned in Malaysia. Since launch, Proton has widened the e.MAS line to three options: the e.MAS 7, the e.MAS 7 PHEV plug-in hybrid, and the smaller e.MAS 5, giving buyers a home-grown choice at more than one price point.

Taking the cars to a mall in Kuantan, rather than keeping them in big-city showrooms, is part of how Proton is trying to make EVs feel ordinary outside Kuala Lumpur. For East Coast shoppers in particular, a roadshow like this is often the first chance to sit in a national-brand EV without booking a dealer appointment.

When and where to go

The two confirmed stops are East Coast Mall, Kuantan from 24 to 28 June 2026, and Sunway Pyramid, Subang Jaya from 1 to 5 July 2026. Entry is free. If you would rather not queue, you can register your interest or reserve a test drive slot through the Proton e.MAS website before you go.

If an EV is already on your shortlist, these roadshows are a low-commitment way to compare Malaysia's national EV against the imports and see how a fully electric SUV fits your daily drive. With each stop running five days, there is time to bring the family along and make a proper afternoon of it.
