Open-ear earbuds have always made a trade-off: you stay aware of your surroundings, but you also hear everything you don't want to. Shokz, the brand that built its reputation on bone conduction and open-ear audio since 2011, has now tackled that exact problem head-on with the OpenFit Pro.
Launched in Kuala Lumpur on 13 May 2026, priced at RM1,199, it's Shokz's most ambitious product yet, combining its signature open design with active noise reduction for the first time. The question every sceptical Malaysian buyer will ask: Does it actually work, or is this just clever marketing?
Open-Ear and Noise Reduction Together

The technical centrepiece of the OpenFit Pro is its synchronised dual-diaphragm driver — a design that produces smooth highs and deeper bass than a single-driver setup can manage in an open form factor. Layered on top of that is a triple-microphone system paired with an ear-adaptive algorithm that simultaneously detects both external ambient noise and in-ear noise, then applies real-time optimised noise reduction.
Crucially, Shokz incorporates acoustic modelling that accounts for different ear shapes, so the noise-reduction performance doesn't fall apart just because your ears aren't a standard size. Users can toggle between full-awareness mode and noise-reduction mode depending on the environment — offices, cafés, cycling routes — and fine-tune the level of reduction in the Shokz app. This feature is meaningfully more flexible than competing open-ear options like the Bose Ultra Open Earbuds or the Sony LinkBuds, neither of which offers adjustable noise reduction in an open-ear form.
The Sound Quality Story Has Gotten Stronger
Beyond noise reduction, the OpenFit Pro adds Dolby Atmos support with head tracking — a first for the Shokz lineup and a genuine upgrade over the standard OpenFit. The SuperBoost driver system delivers distortion-free audio with customisable EQ presets via the Shokz app, giving users who previously found open-ear audio "thin" or "lacking bass" a legitimate reason to revisit the category. For those who commute on the LRT or work in open-plan offices, the combination of Dolby Atmos immersion and switchable noise reduction makes the OpenFit Pro a more versatile daily driver than any previous Shokz model.
Built for All-Day Malaysian Lifestyles
At just 12.3g per earbud, the OpenFit Pro feels genuinely lightweight, with ultra‑soft silicone and flexible nickel‑titanium ear hooks that adapt comfortably to different ear shapes — a crucial detail for a physically diverse market. Battery life stretches to 12 hours on a single charge and up to 50 hours with the case, while a 10‑minute quick charge delivers 4 hours of playback for last‑minute use.
Wireless charging, IP55 water resistance, Bluetooth 6.1, multipoint pairing, and wear detection round out a spec sheet built for everything from gym sessions to back‑to‑back video calls. Lastly, a raised microphone with a dedicated Noise Reduction Ring further tackles one of the biggest challenges of open‑ear earbuds: maintaining call clarity in noisy environments.
Where You Can Try It
Shokz has opened its first Mono Store at IOI City Mall, Putrajaya, where the full lineup, including the OpenFit Pro, is available to try in person before committing. That's an important detail as open-ear fit is deeply personal, and no press release can replicate the experience of wearing them for 20 minutes. At RM1,199, the OpenFit Pro sits above the standard OpenFit but competes directly with the Sony LinkBuds Open and Bose Ultra Open Earbuds. Against those alternatives, Shokz's adjustable noise reduction and 50-hour total battery life are differentiators that justify the price — provided the fit works for you.
